Ever since I read a synopsis of her life and music career in the newspaper a year ago, I was intrigued. I went to see her in a small local theater, and since then I was hooked. She mixes African and Spanish rythms with jazz and Latin beats to create an amazing sound. Her voice is captivating and penetrating. She portrays herself through her music.

Fleet Foxes

The album by the Fleet Foxes is a very pleasing album with a folk sound. It is wonderful to listen to on a cold winter day on your Ipod while you are sitting by the fire. The group shows great promise and I hope their future endeavors improve upon what they have started here. Definitely worth looking into if you enjoy folk music, or are looking for something different and new.

Okay, first off, I will admit that I'm NOT a Disney fan. The Disney people know now is a little past my generation. I never really liked Miley Cyrus, I thought Camp Rock was a bad movie, and I can't really get into the Jonas Bros. So to say the least, I was skeptical.

I heard her single, "Get Back" because it was on the radio and I liked it. I downloaded the song, but I never considered getting her entire album until recently. Now, I've been playing it non-stop practically.

The best thing about her is that her lyrics are not specialized towards a particular population. There are obvious lines that are supposed to appeal to her Disney audience (wearing converses in "La La Land"), but songs like "Don't Forget" have no targeted audience. ... Read More:

I Think That This Was One "GREAT" CD Put Out By Kenny Chesney. In Fact, Today While I Was Out, I Took Along His CD And Kept Playing It Over And Over Again. Kenny Has One "GREAT" CD That I Am So Glad That I Brought Through You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a great JM CD if you are already a fan and are looking for that extra acoustic take on some familiar songs. I love the vocal rhythm changes in "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room" and the soft guitar in "Belief" I definitely think that this offers a cool, chill feel to John's music, and is a nice tag along with "Where the light is?"

RUSH: Snakes & Arrows Live

Rush is one of the greatest rock bands ever (hello Hall of Fame! Rush should be in the Hall of Fame by now) and I can't wait to pop these discs into my DVD player, IF I don't scratch the discs' surfaces. This has the same horrible packaging as Cheap Tricks' new "Budokan!" box. The CDs are incredibly snug in cardboard slits, all in a flimsy package. No clam shell case or even slimline jewel cases here. Just a flimsy cardboard package with no trays whatsoever, so every time you do get the discs out, they will scratch, no matter how careful you are. It's frustrating that labels keep having ANTI-JEWEL CASE FEVER and keep issuing things that will scratch after just a few days. Bring back the jewel cases, please. Indiana Jones: The Soundtracks Collection

Since the 1980s, Indiana Jones music has been pretty hard to come by. The soundtrack to Temple of Doom has been out of print for ages, very hard and very expensive to track down. Raiders was given an expanded release in the 1990s but went out of print pretty quickly. Last Crusade has been available on CD pretty much since it first came out. Now, finally, we have them all together in one set along with the soundtrack to the recently released Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

First, the good news. Temple of Doom and Last Crusade are expanded so as to be nearly complete. The original soundtrack to Temple of Doom in particular suffered greatly from its low running time, a mere 40 minutes. What was on the original album was great, but clearly a lot of ... Read More:

I picked this up after hearing the title song many times and attending a grand opening at a christian bookstore. I can't quit listening to it. It is SO worshipful and many of the songs make me want to get up and dance. Our youth group went crazy over tract 4!
