Oracular Spectacular

MGMT are a New York duo whose Pop/Dance/Rock/Electronic sound makes for a heady mix. Their very playful disc "Oracular spectacular" comprises just 10 tracks (these days, loads of CDs average 11 tracks, doing away with filler).

"Let's make some music, make some money, find some models for wives" they sing in the buzzing "Time to pretend" as they spell out the hedonistic lifestyle they have mapped out.

The acoustic "Weekend wars" reminds me a wee bit of The Beatles. "Of monsters, birds & monsters" is more upbeat. An extremely catchy retro sounding Pop/Rocker. The echo-ey "The youth" is so retro sounding, almost a Doo-wop ballad with shimmery psychedelic effects. "Electric feel" is disco-tinged and finds the duo singing in falsetto. ... Read More:

my son (2) loves the cd and dvd. we sing the songs all the time - very catchy. What i really like is that the music is fun for kids and absolutely tolerable for adults, unlike a lot of other kids music. we have 123'and NO also -- all frequently requested by my son.

Gift Of Screws

A follow up to his 2006 album "Under The Skin," which to me far excedes it. He takes on more of his rock roots and a few of the songs sound very much like something that could be on a Fleetwood Mac album. "Great Day" has "Tusk" written all over it. "Love Runs Deeper" has this awesome chorus with that Mac-ish tone. "Did You Miss Me" is just lyrics in motion and is definitely one of my favorites. "Wait For You" is sinister and balls to the wall rockin'. "Treason" takes us back to the acoustic feel of "Skin" with its strumming acoustics and lush Buckingham vocals. I love this album and will say it is the closest to "Cradle' in my heart.

Love On The Inside

I LOVE Sugarland and I think that this is the best album (CD) yet. I don't understand why they relegated the songs that they did to the deluxe fan edition. "Fall Into Me" is my favorite song of theirs so far, it is an awesome song and it should have been on the "regular" edition of the album. I also love "Very Last Country Song". I feel they are growing and improving as a duo and while stayng true to their roots, also branching out and becoming even more accessable to those who might think that they "don't like country music". Give them a try!

Bob Seger - Greatest Hits

With the number of songs that Bob Segar has produced throughout the years it is difficult to get all of the songs I like one one CD, and there are a couple of songs that I would have liked to see.

The CD stills has so many great songs that it is easy to see why some songs may have been missed, such as Fire Lake which is one of my all time favorites of his, along with Turn the Page.

But the songs that are missing (at least to me) are available on the Greatest Hits, Vol. 2, so between the two of them the bases are pretty well covered.

I personally own this cd and it is one of my favorites. I played it so many times that it actually needed a break in order to physically play. Definitely great for any young girl, guy who's into music, and anyone who wants to listen to decent music that is not explicit,and for you, you won't have to worry about your kids listening to this it is very wholesome, good music, with no dirty lyrics ever. I give it 10 of 10 and so do most of my friends!

This CD is really awesome and I like it every song on this CD is a really good song and it's Just an awesome CD I really like this album and there not a bad group at all I mean there other albums are probably really good but this one is one of the best CD's that they've ever come out with and I don't even think they are making music anymore but I could be wrong about that seriously I could be wrong about them not doing anymore albums but overall I would Reccomend this CD to anybody who's a fan of incubus and you could even send the group a friendrequest on www.Myspace.com I'm not going to add them as a friend because I've got enough bands on my friend space as it is and I may be adding more bands but as of right now I'm not sure if I'll be adding anymore bands as a friend on ... Way to Normal

I never thought I would one day stop being a fan of Ben Folds, but this CD did it. No matter what he says, it is a divorce CD and not a good one at that. Leaving aside whether it's mature to record hate songs against the mother of your kids for them to hear, the album is uneven and tries to hard to be clever. The fun hooks and interesting story telling are largely absent. It just doesn't measure up to the old days. I miss the Five.
