I loved this CD. But then, I have all of Andrea's CD's and could listen to his voice all day long regardless of what he is singing. The DVD was a mite disappointing, but I just wanted to hear his voice.

I'm not a music expert...I just know what I like and I LOVE this cd! The duet pieces are wonderful. I may not understand the words to many of the songs but I can feel the emotion that Andrea Bocelli puts in them. This is certainly a cd worth having.

This is Andrea Bocelli's second compilation CD, released only in Japan in 2000. There are no new songs on this CD (just to let prospective buyers know in advance), but it's nice to have some of the best songs from his first four pop albums (namely 'Il Mare Calmo della Sera,' 'Bocelli,' 'Romanza,' and 'Sogno') in a different sequence.

If you don't feel like spending the ridiculous price for it, a more practical choice would be 'The Best of Andrea Bocelli: Vivere.' I bought this mainly because I'm a die-hard Bocelli fan, but go figure.

"Il Mare Calmo Della Sera" significes Andrea at his best! I agree with what another reviewer said about this being a true Bocelli album before commercialism touched him. And even though you are able to find a lot of songs on this album on Romanza, keep in mind that many of the versions off this album are completely different! Some of these tracks are far more raw and show his voice off better then Romanza. Consider yourself lucky if you were able to obtain a copy of this CD before it went out of print. My grandmother received an original copy of it back in 1999 so I managed to talk her into letting me copy it for myself. Even though it's not an original CD, I truly treasure it as do I the man that sings it!

Be aware of such reviews that are not based on the merits of the artist or product itself. This is a great CD because of Bocelli, which happens to be European. Their product is the original... whatever we take from them to put under American label is the imitation. They are artists who are from Europe and whose careers are in Europe. How do we get to put our Americal labels on their products and compete against the original artist with our prices? Anyways, I think PerAmore2001 got off track and so did I. Bocelli and his music is what we all love.

Romanza

Like many Americans, I was first introduced to the magic of Andrea Bocelli through television. I often find myself still reaching for "Romanza" as a way to relax and take a journey through a musical masterpiece. Though it was recorded over a decade ago, the album has, for the most part, withstood the test of time.

To get the reason for the four-star rating out of the way: several songs on the album do date themselves to the mid-90s. I was never a big fan of the saxophone-driven jazz accompanied by synthesizers that was popular ten years ago, and it is for this reason that I don't give the album five stars. For those who love this style of music, songs like 'E Chiove' and 'Le Tue Parole' will sound fanstastic. And, while 'Caruso' has become ... Read More:
