For years, the NORD ELECTRO was well known to have the sound - - long before the other guys finally got it right. (CLAVIA in fact were the first clone manufacturer to REALLY offer realistic sounding CHORUS/VIBRATO and inboard LESLIE.) The Nord Electro was also lighter than its competitors... and offered some other cool onboard retro synth sounds (for example Rhodes, Wurly and Clav - - my demo of them was actually on their front page for a year.) - - However, considering its poor distribution and high price, no one was sweating... Then, the company was sold, and suddenly they managed not only to get themselves into the distributional pipeline ... Read More: |
