I purchased this Casio portable keyboard to replace a Yamaha instrument that had apparently gotten fried inside from having used the wrong AC power adapter. Not to mention that my very old Casio MT240 has either mysteriously disappeared from my house, or, more likely, has been stashed away so well that I can't find it. After searching for the missing keyboard for several weeks without any luck, I decided that I needed to buy another keyboard, since it bothered me that I had no portable instrument to take to picnics, nursing homes, Christmas gatherings, and otherwise perform on the go.
The Casio CTK720 is a very basic keyboard, primarily designed for a beginner. However, there are plenty of features to satisfy the intermediate ... Read More:
I chose the The Casio CTK-800 because I liked its ergonomics/button design better than the smilar Yamaha models. I also think it looks better too. But I don't like that the volume control is a small, hard-to-grasp slider, rather than a knob. The knob you see is for the microphone. At first I didn't like the silver color but I gotta admit it grew on me.
This keyboard has tons of good and realistic sounds (voices). Most of the voices are of traditional or orchestral instruments, though there is a decent/half-decent selection of electronic, futuristic, and fantasy sounds. And a few weird ones like a helicopter and a ringing telephone. 32-note polyphony is great, even if it's overkill. The built-in metronome is handy. The ability to record ... Read More:

I bought this device primarily for my kids. The keyboard works very, well - excellent teaching capabilities. I was surprised to see how gigantic this thing is. The only issue is the Song selection. It has alot of unpopular songs in the databank (Kids songs are limited and Adult-popular tunes are limited) Lots of classical music (Which if you are buying this as a beginner -you cant possibly play it) and Christmas-type, dated music. Good product but not perfect
