Casio Privia PX310 Digital Piano

This little, lightweight piano is the answer to my dreams, since I can't carry my beloved baby grand with me, and finally gave in and bought my very first electronic, digital piano... along with my now beloved Mac laptop preloaded with GarageBand! I can record everything with the click of a button and go back in later and write whole orchestrations, "just like the big boys." It's really amazing. Simply another world that anyone can enter, for such a small admission price. Heaven, anyone?

These instruments (yes, the laptop is also an "instrument" that you must learn how to play) have changed everything for me. Especiallly now that there is a 3-pedal setup you can also add: the CasioR Half-Damper Pedal for Casio PX110 PX310 Digital ... Read More:

Casio PX575R Privia Keyboard with Stand

I just got a casio pr575 or whatever, and it works
well.

The only objection I have is that when one lets up on
keys, there is sometimes a loud mechanical click! It's
very annoying. If I could figure out how to get the thing
apart, a bit of felt would fix the problem, but it's a real Chinese puzzle to get it apart.

Oh, well, it was only $600

But, the touch sensitive keys on this keyboard are great. I like that it's a lot closer to playing the piano because the volume is sensitive to how hard I press the keys. It's not exactly like a real piano, of course. But, the price is right!
