I looked over the reviews from 3 years back until now. Lots of complaints could be perpetrated by the customers themselves........
1. Plastic thumbscrews fall apart....seems that they have been replaced
by metal ones.
2. Drumbsticks broke after 10 minutes.......I am 6'5'', 300 lbs with a
36" waist and a third degree black belt. I beat on these drums everday
and have been for the last month.....nothing has broke.....must be
using those sticks to pry open dads liquor cabinet.
3. Drum pads drop down after continuous play.....the bracketry is plastic
however some ingenuity could prevail here....maybe spray some spray
adhesive to make it grip better, again I have no problem. ... Read More:
ahhhhh it came in the mail. i ordered the angel light blue and this product.
in comparison, the light blue has this piping that makes the bells sound MUCH longer!
so i would advise if youare as absurd as i am about things you own, to go buy piping or somethign else besides the felt softner that they include withthis.
trust me you willbe so much more in bliss .
The Conn-Selmer Prelude Alto saxophone is an excellent instrument at a bargain price. Craftsmanship on this particular saxophone is superlative, quite above other similarly priced instruments by less reputable manufacturers. The keys are firm, in a good way. The tone is warm and even throughout the entire range, clear, just a bit this side of bright. Once you hold the instrument and play it for the first time, its obvious that the Conn-Selmer Prelude Alto is a well engineered saxophone in the tradition that is associated with those two great companies. Everything about this instrument exalts attention to detail and quality at an affordable price. Highly recommended.
I had a nice jaw harp that eventually broke. Bought one of these as a desperate replacement, big mistake. I wouldn't give this to my worst enemy. The tine (the thing you move to get sound) was unbearably stiff. It was like wrestling with a set of house keys trying to get any kind of sound out of this. You are better off getting a murchunga or a vietnamese jaw harp. They are easy to play, fairly loud and a variety of sweet sounds. You won't believe the difference.

Good array of songs and novel anecdotes about camping.
Would have been nice if it were offered as spiral bound so that the book would lay flat, especially since it was used around the camp fire without music stands.
Doesn't give strumming recommendations. However, Jumpin' Jim's books don't tend to give this info.

Works great! At first I experienced a bit of stickiness on the slide at it's highest pitch, but after a few days that went away. Perhaps it was just that I figured out how to slide it right. Anyway, I recommend this slide whistle highly :-)

This is the third type I have purchased so far, the other two being the Hohner Special 20's and Lee Oskar Major Diatonic. As far as quality, warmth, looks, and appeal, this harmonica beats them all hands down in every category! My favorite thing about this harmonica is the classic wooden comb, giving it a much more rich, folky, Bob Dylan-esque tone (which is what I was going for). I find bending and overblowing much easier on this harmonica as well although that is not what I bought this harmonica for.
There is a reason that this is the most storied and popular harmonica of all time. It truly has made me a believer. As for some future purchases to look into, if this is indeed the type of harmonica you are looking for, check out the ... Read More:

Generally, I like it. I got it within two days of ordering, and it's a nice little harmonica to wail tunes on. The only real complaint I can have is that mine had (and still has)a nice big dent on the bottom. It doesn't seem to effect the playing, and it adds a sense of character to it, so I really don't mind. I've grown attached to it just as I have to all of my other instruments, so it fits right in, next to my Hohner.

I am not a professional musician, but I have dabbled in music most of my life without ever settling on a specific instrument (I did blow a mean blues harp in the eighties). I was recently inspired to pick up an inexpensive keyboard after watching a PBS special demonstrating just how easy it is play the piano...as long as you're not expecting to become a classically trained concerto master, anyway. Heck, if I can handle a typewriter keyboard, then I might have enough dexterity to fumble out a song or two during the holidays, eh?
I studied all the choices, price ranges, features and options here on amazon.com before settling on the Yamaha YPT-400AD. I would have preferred to purchase the YPT-400MS since it also comes with a keyboard stand, ... Read More:
