I was extremely impressed with this clarinet. I ordered it for my 5th grader who had never picked up a musical instrument before. I had to help my son put it together the first time as it was a little tight, but by the time he went to his first lesson he was able to assemble it by himself. The very first time he tried to play it, he managed to make a beautiful sound. I can't tell you how impressed (and relieved) I was. I would highly recommend this clarinet. You can't beat the price nor the quality.

For the price, I was happy with the quality of construction.
No where in the product specifications does Creative claim that it'll work with Windows Vista or MacOS X, and it certainly doesn't work with either; but it's almost 2009! They need to get their act together and write drivers for modern operating systems. (Most PC manufacturers aren't even shipping computers with XP anymore!)
If you've got XP, it's a fun device, and it works well with the software provided by Creative. It's been a little flaky for me when I try to use it as a MIDI device in more advanced, third-party software (like Reason), but that's usually cured with a reboot.
If Creative wrote MacOS X drivers, this thing would be fantastic ... Read More:

My daughter got this set for xmas when she was around 20 months. She's still playing with it all the time a year later. It's all quality stuff and she could use it all from the start. I was amazed at how fast she learned how the kazoo worked and it was not long after that she started in with the harmonica. The quality of construction is high, however, some of the paint on the egg shakers and on the drum surface now has small chips in it, so I would be careful if your child is still putting things in their mouth.

We purchased this guitar as a Christmas present for our young son, since he sees daddy playing guitar quite a bit. It is a very stylish looking guitar with nice accessories, but don't expect to be able to tune it to sound anything like an actual guitar. It is best for pretend play more than anything.
I use this instrument daily (with my iMac garage band sofeware) for choir practice to make sure I stay on pitch. I like that I can use garage band to easily alter the pitch of the keyboard. Usually I set A (abvove middle c) to 440 mHz for modern music, but I may set it to 435 for Baroque music. I also like having a keyboard that is light weight and I can store it under a bench. Right now I have the keyboard on my ironing board next to my computer. The ironing board is adjustable and gives it a secure base. So I can wait to buy a stand until the stock market recovers - no matter how long that takes.
Background: I am a guitar player of about 33 years. I decided to try drums for the first time in my life. I didn't want to spend a fortune so I opted for this set despite the reviews. I am pleased that I am actually a half decent drummer! I guess the ability to keep time combined with the previous music knowledge helps.
The sound quality of this system is really pretty good and I was pleased for a few days.. Then the pedals started acting up. I would get two, three even four hits on the bass and hi hat occasionally! This made the unit unplayable to me. I did see a video on youtube where a guy put some capacitors in the pedals to cure the problem but I feel that you shouldn't have to work on a brand new product to make t useable, so back to Amazon ...
