Yamaha C40 Full Size Nylon-String Classical Guitar

I give it a 5 mainly because in this price range, I really don't know of a better sounding or higher quality guitar. I have owned several guitars, steel, nylon, 12-string and electric. While I overall prefer the mellow sound of the nylon string and the melodious sound of the 12, I like them all.

This guitar is not the best sounding guitar, but if you are looking at this price range you should not be expecting it to sound like a professional handmade guitar. It is great for a beginner or for someone who is on a budget and I recommend this one to anyone who asks me. The tone is clear and balanced throughout the fretboard. Martin Backpacker - Steel String Compact Acoustic Travel Guitar

I got my Backpacker a few months ago and didn't expect to find myself playing it nearly every day. After I had the guitar set up and the action lowered slightly, it played wonderfully. You have to use the strap or it won't behave. But once you get used to it, it's natural and is a great little guitar.

Sure, like all the other reviews state very well, it doesn't sound like a full size guitar. It sounds like someone used a graphic EQ to knock 15db off the 150hz slider. But this sound can still be useful for some recording projects for its own special character. Throw a capo on to hear the effect. Experiment!

I did travel with my Backpacker and it survived the trip well. I'm not fond of the soft, padded case. I had to keep my eagle eyes ... Read More:

Epiphone Goth Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar, Black

"T" wasnt lying about the pickups, the do indeed scream. The more I play it, the more i like it. Plain and simple, it looks, feels and sounds great. Previous to this guitar i have been playing my dad's Gibson Les Paul Recording... Tonally I am not noticing much difference. Honestly I think if i switched to higher gauge strings like that which are on my dads LP, my guitar would sound virtually the same. I'm not the sharpest tack in the box when it comes to the nitty gritty details of guitars/pickups/overall tone, but i wasnt expecting my Epi to sound so close to an actual Gibson LP.

If it helps paint the picture, I play a lot of Tool... and the solo from Rossetta Stoned sounds perfect on this guitar. It's no Silverburst, but you sure as hell can ballpark ... Read More:
