I picked up one of these because I needed an inexpensive guitar, light weight guitar to take on a trip. My expectations were very low because of it's price and my past experience with Epiphone products from years back.

The action, fret dressings and overall quality of fretboard work out of the box really suprised me. I won't say it was perfect, but it was good enough to avoid immediate work and for this price I would say exceptional.

The finish is good. The included pickup is also above average for a guitar of this price range... It's just a solid starter electric guitar at an excellent price.

Suzuki Q-Chord with A.C. Adaptor

I find the Q-Chord to be a fun and entertaining instrument for anyone who can't play any other instrument. As the box says, 0 to Musician in 9 seconds. I have not had to time to play from anything other than the music cartridges, so I cannot speak for playing the Q-Chord any other way. I have never plugged it into an amp or listened to it through headphones. Playing from the built-in speaker it sounds a bit much like muzak/elevator music. The Country Cartidge sounds authentic and the Strangers in the Night cartridge is fitting for this type of sound. While listeners know the songs and enjoy the Lennon and McCartney cartridge, the sound does not come out anything like The Beatles or any other 'rock' sound. All of that being said, if you don't ... I guess it is good enough for most 4 year olds but the screws do not keep the strings tight. I adjust them all the time and they just unwind as soon as I adjust them. This makes my daughter frustrated as she really does try to make nice sounds on the thing. She notices that when the strings are tight the sounds are different than when they are loose! So I will probably have to buy her a more expensive guitar later. It is still good for just plucking at it like mad, which some kids will do and not really care about what it sounds like.

This violin was better than I thought in looks it has beautiful white dots on the ends of each peg, on the tailpiece, on the knob on the front of the violin, and on the bow. It had 2 scratches on the violin on the right side, top. The knob on the front wasn't in line correctly, but my instructor, a Dr., said it was playable. The knob, being off centered, made it a trouble for him to move the chin rest over a bit so that the tailpiece could align itself, for when the bridge was in place...so the strings could be tuned, etc. It is a beautiful instrument, the flaming on the back isn't that spectacular, but still pretty and for a beginner it is great! The sound quality is almost perfect. It keeps the tune for a long time. It is a great quitar and pretty good price for Yamaha. Very fast shipping. I reccommend a stand to keep this beauty safe.

In my opinion, any case for an instrument should protect that instrument. I think this case does a very poor job of that. It is a soft case. What kind of idiot would store a quality, fragile, wood instrument in a case that cannot protect it from crushing? Of course I realized this when I bought the item, but this was the only case available for the instrument. If they had a hard case available, I would have bought it instead.

If you really do want a soft case for your instrument, I would recommend this case. It is well made. However, don't be deluded with false secuirty. This case will provide only very minimal protection.
