This is a GREAT value in an electric guitar. It comes with all the extras and sounds great for an amazingly low price. Highly recommended as a practice guitar or even a primary axe for the part-time muscian.

I bought this violin for a young girl at my church. I was surprised by the look of it, it is beautiful and the carrying case is better than expected. Her music teacher paid for some new strings and this young girl has been faithful to her lessons. She played it and I am very surprised by the sound that comes from this instrument. It is absoulutely worth the money I spent. the sound is great, it looks of fine quality and it is worth every penny I spent. Yes it is inexpensive but for what I heard it is vwry well worth it. I am currently looking for a more expensive one from this company even now as well as a cello from this same company. I bought this to learn to play the guitar. It was a nice started kit. It came with all the basics and was a good deal for the price. The only downside was the guitar case. Very flimsy and no padding. You definitely will want to purchase another guitar case if you will be carrying it around. Other than that though, it is a great buy!

I bought this on the advice of a friend who's bought several for his family. All of them are far better musicians than I, so perhaps you should take my review with a grain of salt.

But my 7-year old loves it, and the fit and finish are better than I expected. The included amp works great, and even if my son has no interest in lessons yet, it's there for him to play with, which he does.

It stays in tune better than my acoustic guitar as well.

I really need to make a video of him singing though; his lyrics sometimes make Gordon Gano seem sane!

Mel Bay Fun with the Ukulele

This is the book that I first used to learn chords when I was a kid. It is lean, to the point, and a great first book whether your goal is to learn the ukulele or to eventually move up to the guitar. There are many other books that are thicker, newer, and more modern. But few will kickstart the learning process like this one. Mel Bay was a master musician and a wonderful teacher. He still has much to offer.

Bottom line is that this is a great guitar for the price. The strap knob is plastic and rather chincy and the fretboard does not have those dot thingies but the overall instrument is really nice and sounds good.

I just received my Jasmine Takamine today..and I absolutely LOVE it!!! It sounds decent, even though the strings it comes with is kinda rusty-looking (will probably need to get new strings eventually anyway, but the provided strings function at least). It's a really good guitar for a bargain price(I even had some extra cash to buy a padded bag and some other accessories for it). Tis not bad for my first guitar ever...
