Drums are new to me. These have been fun in a drumming group my Dad and I go to at the senior center. I like that they are tuneable. My grandson (1 yr old) enjoys playing them. He's favorite drumstick is a wooden spoon

Lynn Kleiner 9.25" Ocean Drum

This is by far the nicest ocean drum I have seen for toddlers. It makes a great sound is durable and affordable. The size is perfect for little ones. I recommend this drum for kids ages 1-8years. The width is narrow between the two drum heads that it sustains a 35lb toddler dancing on it without breaking.

This rainmaker is great. I know this is not a child's toy, but my 8 month old son absolutely loves it. He screams in excitement whenever it makes its sound, he even holds it and switches hands.

Hohner Big River Harmonica, Key of C

I own mostly Lee Oscar Harmonicas (only because that is what my local music store carries). But the Hohner Big River Harmonica is the BEST sounding harmonica your money can buy. Hohner knows how to make a nice sounding, quality harmonicas. They have been making harmonicas OVER 180 years. This is a cheap harmonica that plays well.

I tested a Lee Oscar and a Big River Harmonica with a harmonica blower at Elderly's Music and both sounded great and sounded very similar. I couldn't tell the difference between them. Both Lee Oscar and Hohner Big River harmonicas use replaceable reed plates which save you money.

Lee Oscar Harmonicas are also great sounding harmonicas but it is the most expensive harmonica on the market. Many ... Read More:

Hohner Special 20 Harmonica, Key of G

My folksy boyfiend always talked about how he wanted to learn to play the harmonica, but he didn't have one. For his birthday, I surprised him with the Hohner Special 20 Harmonica, Key of G and the Hohner Special 20, Key of C, as well as a case and a harness. He loves them!
I decided on the Hohner Special 20 after some research. I read that they were a good harmonica for a first-time player; they were well made, but not so complicated that playing them would frustrate a first-timer. In two weeks, he has both of the harps broken in pretty well, and he can almost bend a reed.
I would definitely reccomend the Special 20 harps for a first-time player, or as a gift for a harp player!
