This is a great label maker. It is quality made and the labels look very professional. The refills are not so costly to break the bank. It can do many differnt fonts and also print 2 lines. It was a great deal on the lightening deal day and it's just as great at this great regular price.

This label maker is easy to use. I haven't looked for replacement tape yet so I am not sure how easy it is to find.

I would never have paid the full price for this labeler, but when Amazon offered it for around thirty bucks, I couldn't pass it up. I don't believe the software (for using the printer with a computer) is rated for Windows Vista, but it's supposed to work with everything below that. You have to provide the USB cable. I believe this printer was mainly designed to sell a lot of tape cartridges for Brother. The default setting has rediculously wide margins before and after a label's text. Even if you narrow the margins, or select "none", the leading edge still has nearly an inch of tape that you must cut off (it prints a mark to show you where). If I could give this labeler negative stars, I would. It is a money waster. Every time you print a label, it wastes 2 inches of label tape on either side and you have to end up cutting the excess off. The label tape is very expensive and the labeler continously wastes it! Please consider another labeler because you will hate making labels with this one!

Brother QL-570 Professional Label Printer

I found, after buying this printer, that unlike my previous Dymo label system, the Brother printer cannot work from other applications. I can't use my mail merge or database software, graphics programs, etc. The printer will only print with Brother's editor program. And as others have stated, the editor program is confusing, poorly documented, and hard to use.

I'm going to return this printer and get another Dymo.

Brother PT-1010 Handheld labeler with Rubber grip

I needed a no-frills labeler. This item has been great for me. You can print several different font sizes, basic text formatting (bold, italics, underline, outline, shadow, etc), and even a few border styles (candy, wood, round, etC).

Loading and unloading tape cartridges is every easy. Battery life has been good too.

It does waste quite a bit at the ends of the labels. If you can print more than one at a time, do it. Separate text by three or four spaces then use scissors to cut apart your labels. Do not press the label cut button while printing, or it will stop printing.

This labeler met my expectations! I would give it 5 stars if it did not waste material at the ends of each label.

Brother PT-1880 Advanced Deluxe Labeler for Home & Office

This thing is a real pain to use.
They've changed the "Function key" format from previous generations, which used to work similar to a standard laptop keyboard FN button.
Press the function/code key, and each regular key had a corresponding FN "blue line" above it.
No more.
Now you must click the function key multiple times, to scroll through all the available functions. AND, to boot, the default function for "clear all" is to "Clear the text and the for font", which will reset the font to the Largest size. Many more keystrokes, for what used to be simple.
I'd equate the key functionality, to the Microsoft Office 2007 upgrade, a slap in the face to users who were used to a product that worked.

Brother P-Touch QL-500 Manual-Cut PC Label Printing System

I actually bought this about 4 years ago. Worked fine on my PC but no Mac support. At first that didn't bother me, but now I only use my Mac. I saw that they now have drivers for Mac OSX and downloaded them - hurray, it works beautifully! The manual for the Mac is not current, but it's still pretty easy to figure out on your own. After four years, I still think this is the BEST label printer ever - hurray for Brother for producing a product that has survived well for such a long time!

I have wanted a labeling device for some time and always thought of them as plastic strips with pressed letters. These labels are great and so easy to make. I choose this one as it comes with an ac adapter which is about another $30 dollars for the ones without. At $45 it was less than a $20 labeler plus adpater. As other reviewers state, the machine is the cheap part, the tape is the expensive part. Check the cutting settings so you don't waste tape. I have not used the software that comes with this as those capibilities at this time exceed my needs. I leave it plugged in and it is reay to go. After a short period of non-use it goes to sleep. I am using the labels for cords and transfomers around my computer, labeling items, and will soon use them on file folders. ... Read More:
