I would not have even accepted it for free if I would have known the trouble it would take to try to operate that useless printer. I had in the past a separate print server and it worked fine for several years. This supposedly new HP printer is a huge disappointment. I guess I'll be using it as a door stopper.

My purchase was based on glowing reviews by the likes of PC Magazine and PC World. I thought I had found a great printer. Although the printer is approximately two years old I have only put approx 700 pages thru it.
The first signs of trouble were a large crease in the center of each page when paper exited the machine.
Then disaster struck. I tried to print and nothing. My computer alerts me it has discovered new hardware ! The status light is red and the printer refuses to print, not even a test page. I quickly learn the computer can't find the printer. Trying to reinstall the drivers won't work. even without it hooked up to the computer the red light won't go out. I assume HP makes their money on toner and not the printer itself. Starter cartridge is incredibly small (just a few pages) and replacements are expensive. Good for low volume small or personal user.

I like the big buttons & easy to use design, and like that it will run fine without power (may not get caller-ID w/o power but I don't care about that). What really sucks though is the LCD display when viewed straight on is very dim even when contrast is cranked-- and if you tilt it down the display will go completely blank. Optimum display viewing occurs when the phone is tilted back about 45 degrees, but that isn't ever how I see it. Looking down on it from above and usually the display text is invisible. Contrast doesn't seem to adjust view angle of LCD, just bright-dark so it's really no help. Great phone but with serious flaw.

Sony ICDUX70 Digital Voice Recorder MP3 Stereo Recording and Playback

The Sony ICDUX70 Digital Voice/MP3 Recorder has met and exceeded my
expectations. I used it to record stories being told by Old and Distant relatives about the life and times they've experience. I've transfered these audio files to my computer and likewise copied MP3 music from my computer to the ICDUX70. It is a joy and user friendly. The small size makes it convenient to put in your shirt pocket to record casual converations or sales pitches for later review. However the small size, for me, has two drawbacks. I have to wear my glasses in order to use the device and it is too darn easy to loose it. I lost one, bit the bullet
and got a 2nd one. Love it.

Panasonic KX-TG820B DECT 6.0 Cordlesss phone Handset for Panasonic KX-TG8231/32B

I bought this as a third handset for the KX-TG820 which came with one extra handset. The set up and registration for the main unit was very easy without any problems. I recommend DECT 6.0 phone to everyone, the quality is superb.

Pretty good multifunction printer, but the auto doc feeder tends to grab multiple pages to feed at the same time. After about 18 months, I began to get 5c10 Error Messages on my printer screen and flasing lights on the printer. Good printer while it lasted.

Very easy to use, from basic to more advanced functions, from user-friendly keyboard to easy cartridge removal and replacement. Many colors and sizes of tapes available. I do wish it had more fonts and two or three more font sizes, but it's certainly adequate for everyday use. Smooth, quiet workhorse.

Fellowes Powershred DS-1 Shredder (3011001)

I purchased this shredder for my mom and it died before 6 months was up. Spoke with the manufacturer and after answering a few questions and testing the shredder over the phone to determine if it was fixable, they readily agreed to send a new one and were very easy to deal with. Received the new one promptly and it hasn't been 2 months and the new one is now not working. Other Fellowes shredders have worked great that I have purchased, but steer very clear of this one. This shredder even looks cheap when you get it.

Franklin Electronic Spanish/English Dictionary

This dictionary has a lot of information packed into a slim case. Translating from English to Spanish or viceversa is a breeze. It doesn't matter if the user is a native English or Spanish speaker since it only takes a press of a button to switch language modes. I did not give it a five star rating becuase there were some words that were not in the dictionary. For example the English noun "sower" could not be found (??!!) and did not even recognize it as a word; however, I did find the verb "sow". I think this is a limitation of the Merriam webster dictionary included in the Franklin electronic dictionary. My suggestion is to remove the games and increase the vocabulary.
