This is absolutely essential for anyone taking a Calculus class. This is especially true for later on, such as in the later half of Calc 2 and all of Calc 3. After learning how to manually evaluate integrals and differentiate, as you move on to higher level concepts the 89 titanium can be used to do these manual tasks for you, allowing you to focus on the new material and allow you to practice more without wasting time on repetitive evaluations. I love this thing, and would not take Calc and Physics without it.
I have two previous BA calculators from TI and this one is impressive in appearance and touch. Regrettably, the first function I tried failed.
The calc. has a default date value of 12-31-1990 although you can enter your own dates for number-of-days computations. The problem is that the calculator accepts the year value as two digits as in 08 and not 2008. The consequence is that I can't calculate the number of days prior to 2000 (00). How about long term bonds? The user guide and calculator delivers ERROR 6 when I attempt a four digit year. Perhaps someone knows a work around but the manual and calculator are no help discovering it. Why doesn't TI allow date inputs like Hewlett Packard: 01.011950?
This is a great label maker. It is quality made and the labels look very professional. The refills are not so costly to break the bank. It can do many differnt fonts and also print 2 lines. It was a great deal on the lightening deal day and it's just as great at this great regular price.
No, it's not broken, and the battery is not dead. You just have to find and flip the hidden on/off switch on the side.
It's working great with Ubuntu Linux, and apparently just operates as a mini USB RF keyboard. Just plug it in and voila! Unfortunately, the USB connector is too wide, and you might end up overlapping and losing one of your existing neighbor ports. Or you could just use an extension USB cable or a hub.
Open Office's Impress (and anything else that uses a keyboard; you can probably find interesting other uses like volume control/mute) simply works as expected, responding to 'page-up', 'page-down', and 'alt-esc' (window cycling). There's also the mysterious 'page-blank' button that works well, but I'm not ... Read More:
The Kensignton 33374 wireless presenter works great for me. I am running windows vista and ms powerpoint 2007. The 65ft range seems to be accurate. The ability to store the reciever in the handle is a great plus. Very comfortable to hold in hand.
Bought this scanner to replace my failed Epson Perfection 1650. I like its compact size and quietness, and find the operating speed close to that of the 1650. The software is ok, and scanner operation is as convenient as that of the 1650, but there is less flexibility to allow altering color satuation, hue, etc. I found image sharpness disappointingly soft, and color saturation less than that of the original photo being copied. The overall effect is a somewhat faded, hazy image. Tried downloading and installing a fresh driver, but that didn't change this characteristic. After selecting USE SCANNER DRIVER on the operating panel, I was able to make selections that improved the image quality somewhat, but it is still not up to the performance of my ... Read More:
The Epson V500 Photo scanner is an extremely nice unit. It accommodates photographs, 35mm color negatives and B&W negatives, 35mm mounted slides, large format negatives, and documents up 8.5" x 11" and A4-sized sheets.
The scanned images are awesome! I am extremely pleased with the job this scanner does with my old 35mm mounted slides. I've also had great success scanning old family photos.
Here's how the scanner works:
First of all you must install the scanner software that accompanies this unit. Once you have done that the scanner can be attached to the computer via a USB line. Turn on the scanner's power switch, click on the "Epson scan" icon on your computer desktop, and select the mode that best matches your ... Read More:

The ip90 promised to be an excellent printer, and for the time it worked, it was. However, within printing a few dozen pages under normal use (and I stress the word normal - it wasn't banged about or otherwise damaged) the printer became incapable of feeding pages in straight and would pull them in at an angle causing the printing to be skewed. No amount of adjusting the amount of paper or hand aligning would alleviate the problem.
Eventually I took it to the Canon repair centre and after they repaired it, within a few days, the text became misaligned, printing one pixel to the left about every five centimetres down the page. This may not seem like much, and if you're printing text it may not be much (though it will certainly be noticeable) but if you print ... Read More:

How did I go without it before!? I'm a grad student and reading is my life for the next few years, so this little gadget has been such a handy dandy tool! Now I don't need to sit near a computer to use Dictionary.com or lug around a pocket dictionary that probably won't have all the complicated words I need anyway!
