This heater does a very good job of keeping the water clear of ice. However the water must be shallow enough (not much deeper that the heater is thick)to work well. When the water is shallow it does work very well. The cord is extremely short for our application and I would think that would be the case for most applications. We had to purchase an additional short, outdoors extension cord. I think the cord on the heater is about 18 inches long. It would be much better if it were at least 36 inches long.

Excellent, you need to put a weight to hold it down, but once you have that it does what it's suppose to do.

we love both our heated and unheated versions of this bath. we fixed the problem with the "locking" part of the bracket by taking a screw driver and "punching" out the locking part of the tabs just a little bit and they grab very securely now -- works like a charm!! and our birds love these baths!

I just bought this bird bath and am tempted to return it. The brackets do not fit together, so the bowl does not clip onto the railing properly. It is unstable and not level. It is just poorly made and definitely not worth the money.

I really like the looks of the bird bath. I wanted some kind of feature in one of my flower beds. This fit the bill. It wasn't "heavy" looking and was very easy to assemble and put in place. The price was right also.

This was really cute when I saw it online. I ordered it and put it in my birdbath. Unfortunately, I noticed baby mosquitos swimming in birdbath like it was a sauna only days later.

Also, the legs are flimsy and it fell over many times. This caused the machine to flood out and become water damaged.

What a waste.

Recently purchased this bird bath in a tiffany style. It's affordable, attractive, light weight and makes a nice ornament in our yard, plus the birds clearly are using it both for drinking and bathing. Would recommend it.

API 670 20 Inch Heated Birdbath On Pedestal

We received ours quickly via Amazon, great service as usual, and the sole reason this even got one star.

The bottom base of the unit is not made very well, (somewhat rounded up on two edges) and hard to get standing straight up. The base is hollow, and even with a bunch of rocks in there it still is not sturdy at all. Since it's summer we haven't tried the heater. I'll say it looked and sounded better on "paper", but it's poorly made. We're thinking of throwing the stand away and mounting to the deck rails.
