A few years ago we bought a Rubbermaid chest like this one, but it was a different model. It was the same price, and heavier due to pressboard shelf that was just awful. It was also flimsy, and wobbled, even once set up... this unit is NOTHING like that and is MUCH IMPROVED! This review contrasts our prior experience with this new model.

Pro:
-Very sturdy, does not wobble once built
-Lighter, in part due to improved metal shelves
-Metal shelves (2) are a huge improvement over wooden (pressboard ones):
1) The metal shelves are less likely to bend and warp like our wooden one
2) The metal spans the entire width (like 18" or so versus about 5" with wood) yet is a mesh, so you can see through ... Read More:

The product took my husband about 20 seconds to put together with only his hands. Lightweight yet sturdy, and perfect in the barn for use as a roomy tack box.

I got this to store my patio cushions, it is huge and has great capacity. However, it is a little flimsy. Does not close very well but suits what I needed for the price.

I shopped around and couldn't find a large deck box. The ones I saw sold in the stores only hold 4 cushions. This was a great price for the size. My six cushions do squeeze in there, so I'm happy with it.

The deck box was easy to assemble, true to color, and very useful. However, it was supposed to come with two straps to prevent the lid from over-opening - they were missing. It didn't matter to me because the box is against a wall, but important information.

My husband said this wasn't hard to put together. He's pretty handy. It's large enough to hold our shorter garden tools and to hold the fertilizers, garden gloves, plant stakes, and all that gear adjacent to the vegetable garden. It's not the most scenic box, but it won't need oiling like a teak box or painting. We've had a lot of rain lately and the box has kept everything nice and dry.
At first we had a problem where the lid didn't snap shut properly and we thought it was warped. While waiting for a replacement lid, we moved the box and that solved the problem. Apparently it is important for the box to be level. The instructions didn't point that out, but that makes the difference in getting the lid to fit snugly. So it is OK now, but ... Read More:

This item is exactly what I was looking for to store baseball equipment for a couple of coaches. It worked out so great I bought (3) three more. Thanks Rubbermaid.

Really soft wood. VERY POORLY MADE. Not for outside!!! Cracks and loses finish within weeks! Do Not buy this!!!!
