I bought this house about a week ago and within one hour of erecting it on the 15' telescopic pole I had martins looking at my house and today there are 4-5 on it all day long. I did see several martins in the area prior to getting the house, but I didn't realize it would attract this much attention so soon.

I debated forking out the $125+ for a good aluminum house, but I felt that this house (at 1/3 that expense) would do for now. As I was putting it together it did feel very flimsy but once you get all the push pins secured it really does firm up! I had been looking for these to replace the worn out ones on my two feeders, and now the hummers are happy. So far this is the only place I have found them. They worked perfectly and brighened the feeder it looked like new.

I was pleased with this birdhouse until after the first rain when I went to check on it. The gingerbread details on this birdhouse are made out of CARDBOARD and started to crumble when I touched them.

I had read the other review about poor wood quality, and did not expect great things for $11- but cardboard? seriously?

This should be listed as a decoration only! not for outdoor use!!

I have had a couple of these feeders and they are wonderful for repelling rain and squirrels (if mounted properly). The big flaw is the plastic is not very tough and, if the feeder falls to the ground, it usually shatters. I have put more than one back together with duct tape, but I would love to see this type of feeder made with a bit sturdier construction material.
