Yep. I'm not kidding. I have been looking for this "back-up" humming bird feeder for a years... and why in God's creation I never thought of going right off to Amazon is a tribute to my 20th century thinking. THIS IS THE BEST FEEDER. Period. Cleans up real nice. NEVER drips. All round fantastic and the price... such a deal. I'm buying three. Two for the "kids" and my back up. God Bless. Take care. Stay Safe. Merry Christmas. And rugged???? Did I mention RUGGED??? I've had mine for 4-5 years now. Trust me. Buy it.

This is a great bird feeder. It is large enough to hold 5lbs. of feed, but not so big it bends the tree branch down. It is a very nice feeder and is made of high quality material. I am very happy with this feeder and so are the birds.

Heath Outdoor Products HB-1 Squirrel Baffle

We just put our Squirrel Baffles out and so far, they have kept all the squirrels away from the bird feeders! We have used our below the feeders on a pole but I am sure they would work as well above feeders. All that was needed was a small plumbing clamp attached to the pole, below the baffle to hold it in place and you're in business!(of course, we feed the squirrels separately!)

This seems like a good quality product and the metal hole surrounds and perch deter the squirrels from total destruction. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, however, there are small plastic "gates" that regulate the seed flow - and those were chewed off the first week so that small seed does not stay in the feeder properly. Perhaps each tube opening can be designed for different size seed or include alternate metal hole surrounds with different sizes.

The design of this 3 piece pole system for mounting purple martin houses is well suited to the purpose for which it is intended. That said, for what one gets the price is a bit high. Nevertheless, it saved me the time and effort of designing a mounting system myself and for that I was willing to shell out the $60. The real rub came from the poles arriving damaged such that the interlocking ends of 2 of the 3 poles required a couple hours of shop time to reshape the male and female components of the poles before they could be assembled. This product is not a particularly easy one to return so if you order it, it would be worth confirming the absence of damage upon delivery. This product is nothing but table sugar. The label says it is 100% sucrose, that that's just sugar. Mix 2 ounces of table sugar with a cup of water and you've done what they do, and for lots less than $10 for a pound-and-a-half!
