Felco Classic Pruner with Comfortable Ergonomic Design #F-8

Once upon a time I had a classic #2 Felco that I scored for free due to it needing a new blade and spring. Less than $15 gave me the industry standard for high quality pruners. That pair mysteriously disappeared about 4 years ago. They were terrific! Since then I've accumulated a few more pruners from Corona, Fiskars, and A.M. Leonard. The A.M. Leonard ones are similar to the #2 Felcos but made in Italy. Recently I was given a "bonus" from my boss to buy a set of Felco pruners, so I picked up a #8 and it is great! I do a lot of pruning on the job, and the ergonomic shape blows the AM Leo and #2 Felcos out of the water. These things are "GREAT", and the price was awsome. I own another pair of these this size, I am not able to use them because I lost them in my neighbors pond. Sooooooooo I had to order another pair. If you are looking for a great set of loppers that WILL do the job, and actually make it fun these are the ones to get. I also have a small hand pair. Have had them for 5 years. Still perform like new. I even bought the small size, and the large size for my 80 year old Mom whom insists on still cutting yard limbs, etc. (which I am proud of her)
Guys these would even make a nice Christmas gift for your wife. Just don't tell her I said that. LOL.

I purchased this kit as a gift and was sufficiently impressed to buy a second one for myself. It's not really suitable for the heavy gardener, but works very well for those who like to potter. The apron is comfortable to wear and the tools, while small, are handy. Highly recommended product.

Fiskars Long Handle Digging Shovel #9668

I've used this several times, and have been extremely impressed.
1) I used it to dig down around a stump; it also sliced right through smaller roots with ease. It easily helped pry up roots.
2) it slices right through most of my clay soil with ease.
3) it is heavy, but the balance and sharpness makes up for it (I'm a fairly strong, average sized guy)
4) it really excelled at slicing through sod (or rather bermuda grass!), and leveling out a former garden area.
I fully expect this tool to last as long as my 25-year old Smith & Hawkens spade and fork have.

OXO Good Grips 1/2-Inch Gardening Scissors #16050

These scissors are comfortable, easy to use and work well for light trimming such as cutting flowers. I would not use them for pruning of woody plants.

If you are not very strong, I would opt for a different edger. I cannot use the product. I am going to try a step edger. My fried has had some success with this edger, but it seems that the amount of strength it takes to actually edge will soon break the tool.
