We purchased this for our son for Christmas...it's a great little metal detector. he has had a lot of fun with it and so have we! It has good settings for fine tuning your searches and teaches the younger set how to really dig for treasure. It's a good toy - we should get much use of it.

upon arrival my scale would not calibrate. and therefore would not work/weigh. even after i was forced to buy a 100g metal weight to weigh to calibrate it doesn't work!

I wish the pouch was deeper- with a snap top/zipper-- because when you place your tools in it- they stay until you bend down to begin digging- then they tend to fall out.

Bounty Hunter Land Ranger Metal Detector

I have used a lot of detectors in my time. This Bounty Hunter Land Ranger Metal Detector is the best at this price that I have used. The only problem with this one is you have to read the book and have knowledge of detectors to use .It has found a lot of good stuff for me,coins ,bullets,etc.

This is my second Bounty Hunter Metal Detector. I've owned a Quick Draw 2 for a few years (which I love) and wanted to try to next higher model. This unit seems to pick up with a better signal, but this detector doesn't have a depth gauge like the QD2. All-in-all worth the money. Within the first wto weeks I found several old coins and a sterling silver cross pendant.

Product is pretty good for the price. Doesn't pick up signal until metal item is within an inch or less, but very helpful when you don't want to scratch up a valuable coin!
