I love the hands free car kit. It works like a charm. The problem most folks complain about is low volume. The solution is to turn up the volume on the cell phone that is connected to this device. It took me awhile to figure this out also. If the cell phone volume is low, the device volume will also be low even though you have turned up the device's volume. With the connected cell phone turned up to full volume this baby is plenty loud and easily heard all over my 8 passenger Honda Odyssey! The manufacturer neglects to tell you this in the directions. Another hint--if you take you cell phone out of the car and into the store you must pair the phone again by pushing the bottom button on the hands free device once. Tesoro Silver uMax Metal Detector

I have been playing w/my new Tesoro Silver uMax for about a month now. It does take a learning curve as without the digital electronics like the Garrett Ace, it does not tell you what metal you have hit. I have dug many a soda can even after discriminating out everything but quarters and pennies, but that is part of the learning aspect. All in all, I love this unit. I did lots of research before buying and must say that it is a wonderful machine. I know I will get better with practice so I can only get even more pleased! You really learn to "listen" to this detector, which to me, is better than relying on a digital output.

I am disappointed that I tried to save a few bucks by ordering this product. It works but you have to literally touch the metal with the tip. It says you should get 1.5", you don't. I don't see an use for this item if you have to touch the metal. If you can touch it, you're there. You don't need a pinpointer for that.
