This is a very simple and effective device: heavy gage steel crimped into four "feet" with a simple clamp in the middle. There is no assembly, just insert the tree's "trunk" into the clamp and tighten the screws. There are four screws so the tree is clamped securely at two levels. I also appreciate that the base's shape might accommodate the addition of extra weights to stabilize really large artificial trees.

This is the kind of base that should come with every artificial tree instead of the absolute junk that breaks on the first use. This unit is very useful for measuring soil moisture and sunlight. While I wasn't in a position to evaluate the fertility feature, I do know that the ph testing is useless.

When I tested the commercial soil in my potted plants, I noticed that they all indicated a ph of 7. To my surprise, my yard and garden soil also indicated 7. Since I have heavy clay soil in my yard I began to suspect that the Rapitest was inaccurate.

I took a couple 1/2 cup soil samples out of the garden and put them in small seed pots, carefully followed the Rapitest instructions for ph testing and still came up with a ph of 7. This grass did grow quickly. I saw growth within a week - soft and pretty. However, it cannot take the Texas heat and promptly died within three weeks despite proper watering. This product may do very well in other parts of the country that do not consistently have temps over 90 degrees for many months.

This light does everything it claims to do. It is simple to setup, efficient energy user, and gives plenty of light for growing plants. My orchids love it because of the bright light it gives without extra heat.

My germination rate has been about 25% or less. All my other seeds from other companies are doing wonderful on my tables, but my Hirt's seeds are in a category of their own, small, stunted, wimpy, or not at all. I will not be ordering from you again, and I'm sorry I wasted my money.

These germinated very quickly for me and are growing great outside. Also gave 2 plants away to friends and they have taken off very well. (Started indoors then transplanted outside) A caterpilar had eaten almost the enire plant down to a couple of mangled stalks. It grew back quickly and is starting to produce fruits again. Wasn't able to save any tomatos from the first batch.
