CON: The base of the container will wear out if you drag it on the ground. I suppose I need to have something for it to sit on to prevent wearing out the bottoms of the container.

PRO: Instead of paying for one of those quart sized pressure spray I got the "heavy duty" one. I like the fact that the pump can be taken apart and there are replacements that you can order from the company if anything breaks. There's also a 2 years warranty.

So far so good.

I have used this product personally and recommend it fully. The heavy-gauge stainless-steel construction is extremely durable and the large 5-gallon capacity means a long run between refills. The papaya scent is pleasant without being cloying and it leaves my pet's fur shiny and silky-smooth. I recommend using it daily on your cat.

This spreader does not work well with regular granular fertilizer. The bottom opening is plastic and jams frequently. It did not last two seasons (small yard) before the plastic opener handle broke. It's in the dumpster now.

The ergonomic design is wonderful, as the previous reviewer said. The problems I have had with it are:

1. No bagged fertilizer seems to give the "dial setting" for this model. I guess it is not popular enough. It has settings 1-5, and most other spreaders have at least 7 or 10. I usually just leave it on 5, but I honestly have no idea what spreading rate this allows.

2. It gets clogged easily. I wear gloves, so I just reach a hand in and break up the fertilizer clump that has blocked the opening, and then keep going. This depends on how clumpy your fertilizer is, some kinds are worse than others, especially if you are using from a bag that was opened last season. Not a huge deal for smaller lawn (mine is only ... I had a previous model, I think it was the estate keeper, but was sold under the RL Flomaster name. I had it for 2 1/2 seasons and broke it at where the trigger and hose connect. Based on cost to replace, I just bought the SP2. I love it! Great pressure, super comfortable, short pump stroke and am confident it will last a long time. I spray chlorine products and always run a gallon or two of H2O through it after every use. Don't bother buying what home depot or lowes is selling this season, their worthless.

The prayer is well built, it is easy to pump the pressure you need and holds pressure for an extended time. The container is light enough to carry around even for a smaller person.

This spreader is well built and works quite well. We use it for spreading ice-melt on the sidewalks of our 23 building apartment complex. In order to do this, however, you'll need to contact Agri-Fab (the manufacturer) for an inexpensive deflector kit which you can install that narrows the spread pattern down to 4-feet wide - the ideal width for sidewalks. The large hopper means we can work for quite a while without having to stop and re-load. The large pneumatic tires give it good traction in the snow and slush covered sidewalks and make it easy to push.
