optical quality was amazing.
Made me wonder why I paid a few hundred dollars for a movie camera... oh yeah: portability and zoom lens. But if you like making movies of yourself, for example to answer questions clients ask, I can't imagine an easier set up. Presently, my webinar program limits the resolution to 320 by 240, however.

I bought this webcam to replace a 'logitech quickcam chat' after going through some of the reviews on this site. I had no problems installing on my vista machine and was up and running in under 5 minutes. The picture was positively beautiful (well at least compared to the crap i was getting before). Bought this to hook up to my mac mini. The video quality is nowhere near the quality of the video from the built in webcam on my imac. The focus on this thing goes in and out, and everyone I talk to using Skype says the image looks blurry and pixelated. Maybe my room isn't bright enough, but it's just barely usable.

It is so easy to install. Now I can talk and see my family at the same time. Everyone lives in different states and it feels like they're in your home. The picture and voice are very clear. Well worth the money.

Good little product. Works well on Skype and has good full screen resolution. It doesn't support all the software features I would have liked so if you enjoy playing around with fun image features (ie turning yourself into a talking dinosaur) then I'd recommend the next model up.

This product is OK it took a little while to make it work through Skype. The video has a lot of snow for that reason I would rather use a laptop that has a Quickcam built in!

this has been a nice camerea. Its been a way THAT IS DIFFERENT to communicate with my clients. Sets me apart. Have uesed it 50-60 times now and I'm very satisfied with it.

We enjoy the inexpensive price to get us connected to our older iMac, but it cannot compare to newer, built-in cameras for picture quality. You get what you pay for though, and overall this camera gets you going and is attractive looking and easy to connect via usb.

This product works better then expeced for the price. I use it with my wife who is depolyed and it works great, used it about 20 times now and haven't had any problems.

The Logitech QuickCam Communicate Deluxe is a good value for the money. Considering it's features and performance, I'd call it a mid-range web cam. It does a good job without costing a fortune.

The face recognition software does a pretty good job detecting the eyes-to-mouth region. It definitely doesn't have any sort of advanced visual recognition, because the software actually detects movements of the mouth, face direction, eyebrow movements, and so on. It doesn't recognize detailed mouth formations of speech sounds.

The camera has a built-in microphone, and the sound quality is quite good. It seems to filter out almost all of the normal background noises that you'd encounter in a room.
