if you do not have a full size computer case, save your money. I purchased this card to upgrade the integrated sound card that came with my computer. unfortunately, they do not specify that this product only fits full size comuter towers.

When I discovered this fact I contacted Creative Labs, the maker of the SoundBlaster Audigy SE card and was told that they no longer offer the compact bracket nessessary to make it compatable with my computer.

when buying a sound card make sure it states that it has a low profile bracket or chances are it will not fit your computer case. (most desktop computers sold now are compact towers).

I'm sure it would be good product, if only I was able to use it.

Using it in college so my laptop is compatible with my 5.1 speakers from home. The setup sounds great except there is a split second lag in videos, and a very noticeable lag in games. Perfect for music though

when i plugged in the components on my computer, the computer made a very loud buzz and it did not work. the tech support people were of no help.

I needed a gaming card and one with ASIO support for home based recording. All my music hardware is USB based and I've got 7ms or less of latency with all of them. This includes an Axiom 61 midi controller keyboard, Guitar Rig 3 software edition without their Rig Control unit, and Line 6 Toneport UX2. So far I'm totally satisfied and don't expect to have to buy a 'pro quality' soundcard which is BIG bucks. All my games sound great. Highly recommended for at home musicians and gamers.

The first pci-x soundcard I bought was from Asus, but it had a tendency to crash on me, so I switched back to Soundblaster. That card, too, acted up - to a point where I feared that it was my motherboard instead of either card that was producing the failures. Amazon sent me another Soundblaster, and this one hasn't caused so much as a hiccup. The only thing that really concerns me is the cabling that connects the card to the I/O box - you can easily put them on wrong.

This card used to be a nice one. I boght it four years a go (it was $300 then) and drivers used to be updated in a timely manner. Appart for the limited connection options, it did its job.

They have been selling a lot since but, despite this fact, M-Audio hasn't been motivated enough to develop Vista drivers (specially those 64 bit ones) They report having started (very late) a beta testing program, where you can sign in but never are given the option to join them actually and get the beta driver, as far as I know. A public release was promised for September, 1st but nothing to do. Delays and more delays with complete lack of transparence.

Nice improvement in sound on replacing Creative Audigy ZX card on XP operating system. Greater volume, clarity and bringing forward before hidden background instruments. Best sound I have ever heard on PC speakers or headphones. The standout feature is the Dolby Headphone which creates a multi-channel surround experience over ordinary stereo headphones for watching DVD movies, and listening to music. Great!

My only disappointment is the meager amount of software included as compared to Creative.

This card was purchased to replace an integrated sound card with poor fidelity and no Midi/Joystick port. Install was straight-forward and it worked with no problems. Sound is much better than original on-board system. Have not tried Midi yet. Not in the same class as a Soundblaster but not as expensive either. Good inexpensive upgrade.
