This has the makings of a nightmare, but I'm going to give everybody some time and the benefit of the doubt. I ordered the Acer Aspire One through Amazon this afternoon. The vendor was ANTOnline. By this evening, I received an e-mail from ANTOline saying they were unable to deliver to the address entered at order placement. ???!!! No other information except to say they had instructed Amazon to cancel my order. They couldn't deliver???? The product hadn't even left the warehouse!!! I contacted Amazon, speaking to a real human being. However, the connection sounded like a bad cell phone connection, and the young woman to whom I spoke never quite got what I was trying to tell her. I've had my Asus Eee PC 900HA for about week now and I'm using it more than my bigger laptop. It is so convienent to be able to take it with me everywhere. I bought this to replace my Palm, because even though I loved my Palm it just didn't have all the functionality I needed. So far I'm quite happy with this netbook. I thought that the small keyboard would be a downside, but so far it hasn't bothered me much at all. It has taken me some time to get used to the small enter key and the placement of the right shift key, but it has not taken long at all. I'd previously owned the first $1099 white Macbook that Apple introduced when the switched to using Intel chips. It was a good machine, but this one blows it out of the water. Not only does it take on some of its older brother's look, but it truly is an impressive machine with the the additional touch pad.

Pros:

- Beautiful, seamless design similar to the previous Macbook Pro aluminum design
- Easy to open compartment on the bottom for accessing the hard drive, battery, and RAM
- Doesn't get very "Hot." I've yet to think I need to put it on something when its on my lap, even despite watching DVDs or doing other intensive work.
- Quick little machine. As mentioned, blows my original Macbook out of the water

This is an excellent small footprint notebook computer. It is exactly what I expected. I bought this for my wife who has never, ever, used a computer. It is a hit with her.

If you want a large screen this not the notebook for you. If you are a high tipped touch typist you may find the keyboard just slightly cramped. But this is a problem with the footprint not this computer. If these two issues are a problem for you, you don't want any small footprint computer.

My wife is a hunt and peck typist and for her it is perfect.

The screen is 1024 by 600 in its default and highly readable mode. Yhis is a hybrid of 1024 x 768 and 800x 600. You'll find you often have to scroll down if you want to see the lower portion of some screens.

I purchased this Toshiba Satellite L305-S5907 laptop three weeks ago from Amazon and I've been impressed. Amazon shipped my machine quickly via UPS. It was on sale for about 24 hours so I got mine for $579 with no tax, and shipping was included. This is the best price I've found on a laptop with these specs. The Toshiba is fast, quiet, two pounds lighter than my 7 year old Dell, and looks great. I've had no troubles with Vista Premium working with this machine. My only complaints are the glare on the glossy screen, if you're outside, and the glossy plastic case, which looks good, but shows fingerprints easily. I don't play alot of games on my computer and this is certainly not a gaming machine with a separate graphics card. I have a Wii for that. It also isn't a television ... Read More:

This is my first time using a Mac,and I don't think I'll ever switch back to PCs again. I am only pissed that the price on Amazon is $200 cheaper. Perhaps price has come down in the past six months?

I purchased this product for purposes of reviewing the product from a forensic perspective. Interesting, thing happened on the way to doing a standard setup. the wireless on the machine did not work, obviously HP thought that they would have no failures because their staff is incapabable of troubleshooting the product over the phone. they barely recognize it is their product. If are not experienced with hardware and software I do not recommend this product!
