I have this notebook for about a week. I love it. It is tiny and you can always carry it around in your handbag. I am a researcher and three main programs that I use are MS office, Acrobat Reader and statistical analyses software (such as SPSS). The computer has no problems running those and performs well. It is great to have everything you need on the go.

As you probably know, it doesn't have a DVD drive. If you already have a desktop computer, then you don't need to buy an external DVD. Just setup a small home/office network from your desktop computer (you can do it with a few steps in Windows). The computer works well, (besides the cute looks), it was a bit of a headache to work out the problem. Pages (iWorks) does not work well with reference manager software and Office 08' for Mac was not compatible with EndNote either. There is currently an upgrade from Office available to make the latest version of EnNote compatible, but you have to have both. The rest, no problem at all.

This laptop pc eee pc 900 has a small screen until you do not use it you do not know how uncomfortable it is to go to different websites where half of the website has some ads on it which leaves very little space under to see other info on website also it has linux system so many downloads which are downloadable if they are compatible to window xp only so you can not download softwares.I would say this pc otherwise has no problem and if you do not have problem with above issues eee pc 900 is good .

I purchased this (in white, though) for $499. And yes, I am talking about the one with the 6 CELL battery.

I don't have a clue why it's listed here - and a few other places - for $50 more. It's wrong. MSI has not "officially" increased its MSRP on this mini, but retailers are taking that rumor and running with it. So, what's the result of retailers running with a *rumor*? Everyone begins to think "Oh, look at all the sites selling the MSI at a higher cost, welp, MSI must've increased the price, shucks." It's so wrong. They did *not*.

I live in Nashville and we have/had local retailers with this on pre-order. This is how I got mine... nothing like a local geek stores :) Anyway, the review...

Awesome computer, however the 3 cell battery is woefully inadequate for a mobile computer. Only getting around 2 hours on a computer that specializes in mobility. They shouldn't have bothered with this until they had enough 6 cell batteries.
