Others have commented on how short and stiff the cable is that comes with this, so I won't belabor the point much further except to point out something I haven't seen mentioned on here before that's closely related to the stiffness and length of the cable.

First, you have to understand that this has a "front" and "back" side, with the back being where you plug in the cables and the front having a couple of indicator lights on it with the cable coming out the left side (as shown in the photo). The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because the alarm won't work unless the unit is OFF (which also kills the lighted display). However, I figured out a work-around: set the "timer OFF" BEFORE the "timer ON" time to ensure that the unit will be off after you listen to whatever you listen to when you go to sleep. Yes, there's a TIMER function, but then you can't see the time (at night in the dark) if the unit is OFF!

After ordering here and receiving this item (from Dell Direct), I missed the fine print. But the copy above *does* say that you need a PA-10 type power supply. As received from Dell, the item came with absolutely no documentation (or even an invoice for that matter.) So here I go ordering another $25 power adapter in order to use it. I'll be back if this isn't great.

I bought one of these 2 years ago, running a Dell 700m laptop, SVA brand monitor, wireless mouse & keyboard and audio speakers off it. I never had any problems with it. It was a snap to install and configure by plug & play. No keybd or mouse problems, nothin! About a month ago, I started having problems with starting up Windows (XP Pro). It would not boot the system, would go to blank screen about a minute after the Windows XP logo screen, then just power down and stop. It started to take several hard stops and starts before XP would start. After running all the diagnostics on Windows and my Dell, I isolated it to the ACP50 since nothing else appeared to have any problems. I really wanted to buy this dock,but after reading few
reviews here it is a no go for me. You can't switch on or off the comp on docking station. I called SONY
and they told me there is no other way to power on the mashine- only by opening the lid and pressing the power button.No audio out.C'mon sony, was it so hard? It defeats the very purpose of expansion dock- you still have to connect external speakers to laptop because VGA and DVI don't carry audio signals.The sz series is a well build machine with two video chipsets (INTEL and NVIDIA),but docking station is a joke.

A top-of-the-line speaker system this is NOT, but it does the job.

As a happy owner of a Creative Zen Vision:M, which is now discontinued, finding a docking station is pretty much futile. They had a decent one on the market but like the player itself they're no longer available.

I just wanted something to use at work so I could hear some music, thanks to internet blocking I couldn't play all of my stuff through my computer speakers. Legally downloaded files require a check on the "rights" to that file and of course my work blocks those sites. So anything I purchased for download was off limits.

This was a great buy. Though the product description says it is portable...it is pretty bulky and won't fit in many snug laptop bags. Otherwise, I find the keyboard great and my laptop doesn't seem to overheat even though the vertical support of the stand has no vents, there is a gap between the laptop and the vertical support. I can also rest a book/paper I am using against the laptop keyboard making it convenient to read and type notes.
I am very satisfied. Users who only use the touch-pad of their laptop will have to buy a mouse since the angle of the touch-pad becomes too awkward for use.

Kensington sd100s Notebook Docking Station with Stand K60721US

It is the best buy I have made, the only down side is that it is tall so I couldn't use but the docking station. No more cables all around. My laptop had only two USB port so this was the answer to all my needs.
