This is an excellent small footprint notebook computer. It is exactly what I expected. I bought this for my wife who has never, ever, used a computer. It is a hit with her.

If you want a large screen this not the notebook for you. If you are a high tipped touch typist you may find the keyboard just slightly cramped. But this is a problem with the footprint not this computer. If these two issues are a problem for you, you don't want any small footprint computer.

My wife is a hunt and peck typist and for her it is perfect.

I like this more than the pricey and heavy HP 2133. I'm a touch typist with large hands and could not type at all on the Asus netbooks. The prices for this model with 160 GB of disk and the 120 GB model are currently the same (two dollars difference), so it only makes sense to get this one if you're going to buy from Amazon. Amazon's price for this one is (as I type this, at least) as low as I've seen anywhere.

STRENGTHS:

* Boots up --from cold to password prompt-- in 36 seconds!

* It's the lightest I've seen.

* If I don't feel like connecting my Canon or Minolta camera, I can just plug its SD card directly into the laptop.

I just received my MacBook Pro today and shot a quick tour. I haven't had a chance to fully review it yet, but I want to make a comment about Amazon Prime. It is the BEST. I ordered the MBP with 1 day shipping for $3.99 on Saturday, assuming it would be delivered on Tuesday. It arrived Monday before 10am. This is not the first time that has happened. I am a huge proponent of Amazon Prime, especially for Christmas shopping. Now I can play with my new MacBook Pro and not get bumped and shoved at the malls. Prime is the best!

I recently purchased the Asus Eee Pc 904ha and I couldn't be any more happy with the performance thus far. The Atom processor seems to work wonders with keeping the Netbook at great working condition. I have yet to be annoyed by the laptop over-heating. So far so good. The 1 gig of ram that is standard in the system makes this device run smoothly and allows for you to run many programs at a time with no trouble at all.

Alongside the 1 gig of ram, you get a 160 gig hard drive which is split up into your C and D drive. There is so much space to store whatever you need over the course of use with your netbook and still...if you wish to purchase a USB drive you can because this device comes with three USB 2.0 connection ports.

I'd previously owned the first $1099 white Macbook that Apple introduced when the switched to using Intel chips. It was a good machine, but this one blows it out of the water. Not only does it take on some of its older brother's look, but it truly is an impressive machine with the the additional touch pad.

Pros:

- Beautiful, seamless design similar to the previous Macbook Pro aluminum design
- Easy to open compartment on the bottom for accessing the hard drive, battery, and RAM
- Doesn't get very "Hot." I've yet to think I need to put it on something when its on my lap, even despite watching DVDs or doing other intensive work.
- Quick little machine. As mentioned, blows my original Macbook out of the water

I've owned various used laptops before I bought this one. I was specifically looking for something light and portable, like the ThinkPad X-series. However, it was hard to find one for less than $500 that was in good condition. Then netbooks came along. After much time and research, I decided on the AA1 mainly because of build quality, and because it had a Linux-based variant.

When I received the package from BeachCamera, I got not only this computer, but a PC-to-PC File Transfer for Dummies USB dongle in a box (you can find out more about this product: PC-to-PC File Transfer for Dummies) This was not part of the order, and it's completely useless to me. It's small size allows me to carry everywhere, battery life also is very long (6 cell gives about 4 hours). I highly recommend it.
