Diamond VC500 One Touch Video Capture Device

If you've upgraded your Windows XP OS to service pack 3, this device will not run. Worse, after you install the software, Windows becomes unstable and there is no way to fix the damage except to reinstall Windows or do a System Restore to a point before the installation of this device.

But what bothers me the most is that Diamond offers NO support. I tried to phone them but there is no telephone contact info listed on their website for tech support. I tried their tech support chat facility for three days and was always told that no operators were online. I tried emailing them and they never replied. This left me feeling pretty negative toward Diamond products in general.

If an offer seems too good to be true, it usually is. The price for this 1GB SD card (sold and shipped from ChiTek) is only $1.30... wow, pretty good, right? WELL... just to see what the shipping would be I went into checkout for 6 of these and 4 of the 1GB microSD's at $2.33 each, also from ChiTek, so you know they'll ship them together. Netgear WGR614 Wireless-G Router

I owned this (refurbished item) for 2 years without many problems. It was easy to set up and worked well with my Mac and other computers. My only real complaint was the lack of support for it. I usually had difficulty signing onto the Netgear site-it has different passwords/user names for different facets of the site. Netgear support does not respond to emails.

Netgear does have an extensive online support where I usually found my answers.

For $25 including s/h. I consider this worth the price and effort. My refurbished item no longer works after 2 years. But, here I am considering getting another!

I don't know what all this negative talk about Microsoft Vista is.
I bought a laptop with Vista OS, and my wife bought an Apple laptop. After three months I'm enjoying my computer while my wife is cursing the day she bought hers. I have thousands of programs to choose from, and a computer screen that shows my applications from border to border, plus I have had no problems with Vista. My wife can only choose from a hand full of programs and her screen only shows a small application window, the rest of the display is a large tool bar. The only saving grace is this. You can partition the hard drive and loaded Microsoft XP on it. Since I loaded Windows XP on her Apple, she is happier, but she still complains about the high cost of an Apple Microsoft ... I really like the larger 10in screen. I saw a 9 in and it is too small to read. The 80gig hard drive great! I replaced the 1gig ram with 2 gig ram chip and after resetting the cmos memory I have 2 gig ram.
The battery life is a solid 5 hours. The keyboard is easy to type on.
I love the bluetooth, as I added a bluetooth mouse.
The screen is very bright. The only small item is the sound is not terrible loud, I have had to use earbuds in a pinch.

Logitech QuickCam Orbit AF

I've had this web camera for about a month now and I love it for basic web cam and video operations. It takes beautiful stills, and has a beautiful picture in video. The built in microphone works perfectly. However, I don't really care for the motorized face tracking. Though it is a very cool concept, it seems a little too under developed at this point, and will eventually be improved hopefully.

pros:
i like the scroll wheel design
use it everytime for web browsing

cons:
middle click is difficult to use due to the design
sensitivity(dpi) is too low only 800dpi
lagging if i use on a high resolution monitor
not ideal to use for gaming
battery consumption is much lower than it advertised

conclusion:

personally dont like this mouse
but the wheel and ergnomic design is very usefull
planing to buy a new one
maybe logitech mx1100

Macally PS-AC4 AC Power Adapter for Apple G4

I had to buy this as a replacement for the power adapter that came with my PowerBook G4. Unfortunately that adapter was so poorly constructed that it began to break and fray within half a year. It quickly became a fire hazard and then broke.

This power adapter is much better. The plastic coating the wires is much thicker and sturdier than the Apple adapter. The power cord is at least twice as long as the one that came with my PowerBook. It doesn't have the goofy "features" on the apple adapter, like a flippy plug at the end, but that was part of what made the original one so prone to breakage! It also doesn't pulsate like the Apple adapter, but personally I always found that distracting anyway.
