It's hard getting used to playing with the Nostromo after being a keyboard WoW player. However, after I got the buttons set up how I wanted (through the very easy-to-use GUI) and got used to using it, I love this thing! I'm so glad I bought one!

It doesn't do tricks or get me a cold soda, but it does have a neat flashing light as it stores new data. Lets face it, storing data is what's important and this 500 GB hard drive does just that. With USB 2.0 connectivity, what could be easier! To be totally honest, I bought this one as a back-up to my first one(Identical unit) because I had to send the first one for repair of a burnt out power board inside the drive. Customer service was outstanding in that when I spoke to a representative I told him I did not want to ship the actual hard drive from inside the case, so he told me to remove it and only send the case (with the burnt board inside) and the wall transformer. Easy to connect (includes the cables); readily allows you to operate two PC's using one mouse, monitor, keyboard and set of speakers. {Note: there's a PS-2 KVM switch available if you have PS-2 mouse & keyboard.} My only problem is waking a sleeping PC (on power scheme); hitting the keyboard spacebar doesn't do it. Otherwise, you can easily switch between running PC's using the "hot key" (scroll-lock + scroll-lock, preprogramed). I got this to assist in migrating from an old PC to a new PC, but was so much fun I've kept the old one in place as an "installed spare/back-up".

This product has solved my ergonomic needs better than anything I have had at a business or home office for the past 3 years! With it I was able to convert a "pre-computer age" desk to a very efficient workstation.
Also, really important to me was the ease of installation. The directions were easy to follow and all workings are intuitive--even for a nontechy like me.

Bought this to replace a Dell 810 all-in-one printer that malfunctioned after less than two years. I would have given the product 5 stars except that the installation instructions for Windows XP are unclear and we encountered problems because we used the CD that came with the unit (CD was for Vista--that little devil of an operating system). Once we figured out that the CD was not necessary for Windows XP all went well. We had excellent technical support from HP in helping us resolve the initial problem. Bought this HP as the third desk side printer in our office when color printing is wanted. We have three of them now and so far, so good.

Fujitsu ScanSnap S510 Sheet-fed Scanner

I tried to use an HP multi-function printer for scanning and it just didn't meet my needs. I have lots of paper to handle, and spend a lot of time creating pdf's from paper documents for distribution. I had direct experience with the Fujitsu 5120c scanner and wondered if this lower cost unit could do what I needed at half the price.

It does. Fast scans, with duplex scanning on the fly, makes it perfect for my uses. It is set up to create pdf's directly, and comes with Acrobat Standard. Scans are great, and can be quick unless you need a higher resolution than usual.

Occasional misfeeds on the multipage documents are a small issue for me. Best thing to do is make sure staples are removed quickly and the papers are "fanned" to put some ... Read More:

HP LaserJet P1006 Printer

I just bought this printer but was aprehensive due to some of the customer feedback I had reviewed. I setup the printer to my Windows XP PC and started to print. I was particluarly concerned about three comments made in reviews that I had read:

1)The printer does not print very good at point 5 font - false
2)The printer makes noise when just turned on - false
3)The printer does not duplex - true

I tried to print a document at point 5 font and to my surprise it was very legible. The quality is very good whether at FasRes600 or FasRes1200.

The printer made virtually no noise when I started it up. I even turned it off then on again and detected very little noise.
