Gentle Leader Head Collar - Large - Blue

They call it the 10 minute attitude adjuster & it is just that!! Me & my fiancee have not had enough time to really train our dog Harley correctly yet because of work schedules & being on vacation, but the few times we have had it on him it totally changes him. I am a firm believer that this product works great. Harley is a 68lb Pit Bull/Shepard mix & unbelievely strong. It is all my 200lb financee can do to not be dragged by Harley when we go for walks with a regular collar & leash, & I hardly ever try unless I want a good workout during my walk!! My one year old Alaskan Malamute constantly pulled on his leash. It seemed especially bad in the winter - like his sled dog nature kicked in when it go cold. I dreaded taking him for walks for fear that he would pull me into a nasty fall on some ice. I tried several different training methods - stopped walked when he pulled (the "be a tree" method), turning directions whenever he pulled, using a short lead, not letting anyone else walk him - but, NOTHING WORKED! Until I saw the Gentle Leader Head Collar being used on the TV show "It's Me or the Dog". I was skeptical, but bought the collar anyway. This product works very well. It stopped my 'sled dog' shepherd from pulling against the lead the very first time it was used (She was pulling on the collar so hard that she was constantly choking, gagging, and even throwing up). The only problem I've had with the gentle leader (other than price) is getting the right size. My dog is a border line small-medium dog with an average muzzle size. The nose loop on the small tends to be too small while the collar on the medium is too big. Needs more overlap on the nose loop with the next size up. If you have a big muzzle dog you'll need to get one size bigger than indicated.

This product works very well. Gentle Leader Calming Cap - Petite

The calming cap does help with our Bichon's fear agression. When she encounters another dog her reaction is reduced. However, the cap is not as sheer as I was led to believe. She has difficulty judging where the curb, plants and other objects actually are. She has run into things on occassion. This could lead to a serious injury. Please be cautious. She also tends to heel too closely when she is wearing it. I have to be careful not to step on her toes. Test the cap on your dog indoors. I may end up cutting a section out and replacing it with a fabric which is more transparent.
