Our kitty loves to scratch her new scratch post. We bought this as an additional post to her cat tree. She stretches and scratches while we are watching tv. She comes running in and climbs up on it. I wish she could sit on top. There is an additional seat available that can be attached to it, it slides on the top. This is a sturdy, good quality post with sisal carpet instead of rope.

My cat rarely used this scratching post. I got a different scratching post, also made of sisal but with a carpet base, put it right next to this one and he did use the new post. I ended up throwing this one away after a few months. I noticed that the rope was fraying a lot, despite him rarely using it. The base is too small and it tips over very easily, scaring the cat.

My cats took to it immediately. The height is perfect for them to watch out the window or curl up & sleep in the sun coming in the window. The height of the sisal post is just right for them to really stretch out when they use it. Great buy!

My cats both love this scratching post. The base of it makes it nice and sturdy for the one who likes to pull really hard. My last post bit the dust after a few years when the base came off; this one looks like it'll last much longer. The bit of carpet at the top makes it look neater.
My cats don't seem to mind leaning over to use it, but I would like to get them the tall one someday!

While I would prefer a slightly different angle between the tiers, this is well worth the price. The cats quickly acclimated to it, and enjoy romping *all* over it, from every angle they can get at. The sisal is already being used more than their other sisal scratching post. The base is sturdy enough that it can handle cats jumping on it from all sides and dangling off of it. Some creative toy placement on it has really improved their play. It's also a very good height for cats, without being overwhelmingly tall.
My only real complaint is that the packaging wasn't very good, the box tore in three places, so two of the tiers have black stains on them.

My cats both generally ignored this product when we put it out for them. Then, after a few days of completely ignoring it (and sticking to the couch edge) we sprinkled some kitty weed on the box. It falls right though to the trey below, a very nice feature. The cats both went for it and have enjoyed the box ever since.

I bought this in order to save my upholstery when my daughter came home for Xmas with her cat. He did use it sometimes, but it took a lot of picking up and moving the cat from the sofa to the scratchbox - he rarely chose the box for his first target. However he did use it and seemed to enjoy the substitute. With more training I'm sure he would use it regularly and leave the sofa alone. The con to the thing is that it is not tall/long enough for him to stretch himself while scratching, I don't know if that is important to a cat. Another thing is that it is lightweight plastic and he flipped it over a few times in order to get at the red toy underneath. Not a problem for me to flip it back, but the scratching function is not available when it is flipped. ... Read More:
