My 7 year old absolutely loves this toy. He won't go anywhere without it! It's really great for enforcing good behavior, such as staying quiet when guests are over, sitting in the corner on his bed when he's being ignored instead of scratching at the doors and breaking windows, and sharing his food instead of producing a blood-curdling scream when others come near. It's really made a difference, this little squirrel. It's changed our lives around for the better, and little Gunther's, too. I really recommend it for parents who have problematic children- ever since purchasing this, we haven't had any DCFS agents coming by or calls from the school guidance counselor.

These balls looked and sounded great in the ad, but they turned out to smell like burnt rubber instead of catnip, and both my cats avoid them.

I've had many cats over the past 30 years, and bought many more cats toys than I can recall. My cat loves her carrot! She retreives it when I ask her to go get her carrot... I wake in the morning and find it in bed with me. I bought it over 2 years ago and the feathers are long gone. You can wash it, I love the velcro opening so you can refill it with catnip. I am going to buy her several more. There's just something about this carrot!

I thought I was doing Whiskers--my four year old tabby--a favor by buying a 1 1/3 ounce tub of catnip. A little treat here and there, for being such a good little kitty.
Boy, was I wrong.
I'm sure you can imagine what a shock it was for me to come home from a long day at the office to find that Whiskers, sweet, little Whiskers, had gotten into the highest kitchen cupboard and was now smoking a fat catnip blunt.
How he managed to even roll a blunt without thumbs is beyond me.
Let it be known that not a single leaf of catnip will EVER enter my home again.

The toy's long tail provides something to swing it with, and my cat seems to like it better than her other cat toys (except the water bottle lids that she plays soccer with). It doesn't seem to be something she wants to play with on her own (if you are worried about providing entertainment to bored kitties during the work day), but she enjoys it best about bedtime with me providing the locomotion.

...then you're little ball of terror will like this toy. I have two cats, one that is over 2 years old, and very smart, yet stand-offish. When holding the head end and bouncing the tail in front of her, she merely sniffs it; after about 30 seconds of dangling it in front of her, she will bat at it out of annoyance. However, this is how she reacts to all dangling toys. If I show it to her, and then dangle it behind something, she will want to pounce on it. If it's right in front of her face, she ignores it.
My other cat, on the other hand, is a male, about 6 months old, and will go after anything that moves. He goes absolutely crazy when I dangle it in front of him.
Pros: Looks well constructed, although I just got it ... Read More:

my cat doesn't seem to be too interested in it at all unless I play with it with him. I guess it's good for the "bonding" process, but he seems to enjoy the other canip toys that he can destroy easily or cat crazies (especially his version of hockey in the bath tub).

Have bought this in store before. Cat loves this product! She eats, licks, and rolls around in it whenever I provide her a pinch. If your cat gets "high" off catnip, this should work for them too! (FYI, catnip is from the mint family. Note, cats over 3 months old will be receptive to the effects of catnip ONLY IF they are genetically predisposed. Half of all cats will feel no effects from catnip at all.)

This is the only catnip my cats allow in the house, all others are spurned. They drool all over it and rub in it, if you put it in their toys, they throw them around the house, then comes the long worn out nap. Fun is had by all!

I've had these for about a month now and the cat has lost interest in these mice, but they were so cheap I'm not too worried. When they first arrived he had a great time with them, he bit them, licked them and boxed them with his hind legs. It was very amusing to watch him try and kill them. They are still intact, so I suppose they are of good quality.
