The Furminator did remove a lot of undercoat hair on the cats that would sit still, but a couple of cats hated it, and I think it was irritating their skin. I need to learn to be more careful with it.

I could knit a sweater with all the fur that comes off my cats. It's insane - the pile of fur is bigger than the cat itself. My cats love it so much that they can't keep still when you brush them - which makes it pretty hard to do! MAKE SURE you do this somewhere that you can sweep it up easily. You will get a LOT more fur than you think you will.

Also, make sure you keep the cat out of the pile of fur! ^_^

Thank heavens for this product. At first I got bad results due to using the dog product on my cat to save money, then I ponied up the money and bought this. Our backyard is pretty much woods and there-in lives deer. I got a cat last year and also got Lyme disease. Unlike my first trials with the 'dog-intended' package, this year I've seen NO fleas and NO ticks (alright, I have seen two barely alive ticks, but they don't count - and were immediately burned to be sure).
I did a lot of research and every source said the same thing, Frontline Plus is the only effective TICK control for cats. Yes, it is definitely effective!
-Also, every source mentioned never to use the dog product on cats, my bad.

Most people don't think about what they are putting on their pet when they use this stuff. It's a potent insecticide called Fibronil. It is transmitted through skin-- dog skin or your skin!! Be sure to wear protective gloves--Amazon sells inexpensive boxes of throw away nitrile gloves the same type doctors use when they give patients chemo or handle potent drugs. USE THEM. Don't pet your animal where you applied the chemical. I got horrible headaches from this. It works great on fleas, and I would be sure your pet is actually at risk for fleas and ticks before randomly applying. Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie) has the cutest little face now that those awful stain are gone. Product works in the time frame and as adverstised. Doesn't seem to affect the taste of puppy's food. I feel better knowing that I am taking good care of him and people lavish compliments on him! Very happy!

Friend recommened this product to me and am I glad she did. It has worked great! Barking is rare now, a real treat for us and our neighbors.
Highly recommend. Only negative is one of the battery covers fell off at some time and is lost (we have 2 dogs, both barkers.) Still works though, so no real complaint.

I have found that the Advantage Once a Month does not dry quickly on the animals skin. This is expecially not good cats.
