The actual heating pad element is very small and does not warm the covering very much. This company used to make a much larger heating pad but I don't see it for sale anymore.

I bought two. My dogs actually use them, and I've washed them twice with no fading. This is a very good product. My only note is that they do look dirty fairly quickly if your dogs are outside at all. But... it's a dog bed... what more do you want?

My Pug puppy absolutely loves this super soft blanket. She carries it around with her anywhere she goes! I am having to buy a replacement after 3 months because she has loved it to death!

It is just great but could use one small improvement: a snap on the elastic that goes over the corner with the cord so you don't have to unplug and thread it in and out every time you change the pad. Otherwise, perfect.

This is a super big dog bed and very fluffy and made with thick, sturdy material - unless you have a puppy!! My puppy chewed through the seam within days so the stuffing began to fall out. One solution would be to get a bed cover that are sold separately on most pet product websites. I had a friend sew it up and it's as good as new. I would highly recommend this bed for adult dogs that don't chew.

The only thing wrong with this product is the velcro is not strong enough to hold the unit on the window sill for more than a day or 2. My cats are the normal 12 to 14 pound variety and they like the padded and heated rest by the window. But I have to figure out a way to beef up the velcro in order to hold on to the sill.
