Since I already posted a review for the Drinkwell Platinum Pet Fountain, I am going to keep this review focused on the product itself, which is the new and improved filter.

I can't say that I was all that thrilled with the previous filter for use with the older version of the Drinkwell Pet Fountain. It was always producing a lot of charcoal in my cats water and although it didn't hurt him, I still didn't like the site of all that "garbage" in the bottom of his water dish. Also, the old filters didn't seem to do that good of job of filtering out the water. I don't know if it was just me, but I didn't like them all that much.

Although i must admit that this system could conceivably work just fine for a normal doorway, little information is given to "warn" the prospective buyer of the products limitations as to wider doorways.

No provision is made for adjusting to a wider doorway and, although the company has "adjusters", they want an additional exorbitant amount for those "adjusters". The result was that i had to swallow a $22 shipping charge to return the item to Amazon.

None the less, i do feel fortunate having purchased the item from Amazon which allowed me to return the item with no questions asked. I will be quite a bit more cautious the next purchase and, given the chance, will avoid any purchase from this company.

LitterMaid LM900 Mega Self-Cleaning Litter Box

Very pleased. I have ownd a Littermaid for the past 8 years and have found this product to be a great time saver. My cat never has a dirty litter box and I use a great deal less litter. This is my second littermaid in 8 years. the first one was no longer auto cleaning and required a manual reset to get the cleaner to run. I beleive the sensor was bad. I was tired of having to remember to reset it so I bought another one. Definately worth the money!

SCOOP FREE LITTER BOX

We have really enjoyed this product. No more daily scooping of stinky kitty poo or clumping litter. The machine just scoops it up and locks it away. We have a small cat about 1 year old. We do have to change the litter more than the advertisment suggets to keep it fresh smelling. We change it about once a week. We have a system were we just dump everything out of the tray into the trash then refill the tray with a bag of Fresh Step crystals. We replace the actual tray about once a month. This is a little cheaper than replacing the whole tray every week, but still so much easier than scooping stinky poo.

This product is not totally self cleaning, for it needs you to roll it. However it sure beats cleaning the box out by scoop and hand. It cuts my cleaning of a cat box down in half the time or less. I liked the box the first time I went to clean it out. No more lugging around a heavy cat box (I dont clean the box everyday maybe every 2 days or so don't like my cats getting use to a super clean cat box makes them fussy), hand scooping and searching for litter box surprizes. I read the comments on amazon about the box and thought I would try the self cleaning litter box, bought the large box. It is quite large but for what it does that does not become an issue for me.
