A month into use and I can say that these are great binoculars for the price point. Brightness, clarity, and colors are noticeably good and provides for a satifying birding experience. I can see why the product has received so many positive reviews.

I bought these binocs for casual use, and they're great for that! I leave them in the side of my hiking bag... they're light and take up barely any room. 12x power is very nice for such a compact design. Optics are good but not amazing. For $20, these are unbeatable value.

Nice, compact, light-weight binoculars. Great for birding if you don't want to shell out the cash for a "high-end" pair. I can safely say that I see better with these and find them more comfortable (because they are so light-weight) than some of the other, pricier binoculars I've tried. My only complaint is that they aren't fully coated, which means that they fog up eventually, which means that they only last for approximately six months if you use them regularly, but what do you expect for $13? Great for the price. And for beginners.

I will def. recommend this product. It's been only 4 days, but I really like this thing, it has amazing clarity and not that bulky but for sure you will feel the weight within 10 seconds and thats the only issue.

Still, much better if you will compare to telescope. And again you need to compare the price with bulky telescopes as well. So by all means good enough for amateur astronomer like me.....

Purchased these binoculars primarily for hunting. Have just finished a first season with them and they worked really well. They had to be able to handle both distant searches ( up to 800 yards ) and close scans in deep/dark woods ( from 20 - 60 yards mostly ). Their ability to clearly focus and help pick out standing wildlife was better than any other pair I have used except Swarovski's ( which was not significantly better ). The other thing I needed was performance in low/fading light. Excellent again. Very functional glass for the money. Only negative was the pupil eye covers. Come off far too easily which was a problem while working thru brush. Had to clean lenses repeatedly. Very good buy/performance for the price - also let guests use them ... Read More:

Olympus Outback 8x21 RC1 Binoculars

I purchased these for use as "opera glasses" rather than for field use. Their light weight (6 oz) makes them easily portable even in a light jacket, though the case comes with a pass-through for attaching to a belt. The clarity and ease of use is typical for Olympus (and above average overall). Next year my sister and her family are going to Africa, and they will be taking them on safari. I have found no shortcomings in my use of them thus far. I would recommend these for anyone but the hardest-core, long distance binocular user.
