I am a scrapbooker, enough said, I take lots of pictures. I have had this camera 2 months and didnt want to write a review until I had a real handle on how it performs. It is the best compact camera I have owned and easy and the pictures are great. I have nothing negative to say. I have it in gold and it is very stylish.

As an amature photographer taking pictures of family,friends and interesing places this camera is the best. I like its portability - I am able to carry it anywhere. I like the instructional manual - It's straight to the ponit. The camera itself is very easy to use. I will recommend this camera to friends.

We've had the Canon Digital Rebel XSi for a few weeks now, and I am impressed by both the quality of the pictures it produces (with the 18-55 mm IS lens), and the small footprint and light weight of this camera. We usually reserve the SLR that we are using for the more intense photo opportunities, and a good point-and-shoot for general travel usage, where its lighter weight and less cumbersome support equipment is a welcome respite for the shoulder muscles. But this XSi is really no heavier or larger than our latest Olympus point-and-shoot, so we may be rethinking our approach.

Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens

Pro's:

-Great DoF (f/1.8)
-Great bokeh
-Inexpensive

Cons:
-Plastic, unlike the mk1... I've heard it's very easy to break... If you drop it it's a goner
-AF is noisy
-Focusing ring is annoying

Overall:
Overall, I love this lens... It's great, especially for the price. If you can't take perfect care of your lens, save up for the mk1, which is about $300 more, made of metal, and is f/1.4. But if you want a great lens for a cheap price and are willing to take care and just be a bit extra careful, I'd recommend this beauty.

This camera comes packed with great features and does a decent job in low light. The wide angle lens allows you to get up close to get everyone in a picture which comes in handy for close up shots. The in house red eye reduction software is a pleasure to work with and saves me time when I am touching up photo's. This camera shoots great out door shots and does very well indoors as well, but be aware it does have some issues with a pretty bright flash which can lead to lighting up dust spots in the air which can cause problems. My older 800 series camera was really bad, Canon seems like they improved this but it is still an issue. What they need is a flash intensity setting, which would help. Canon Powershot SX10IS 10MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom

Am I the only one that noticed the picture quality looks overexposed with little detail nor proper color levels. I'd try and find a S5IS which is a superior camera in regards to picture quality. I think the advantages of the "super zoom" are also part of the downfall. Looking through a tunnel, and you'll get pictures that reflect this aspect.

Take your time and look at the picture samples taken from the S5IS versus the XS10IS - base your decision on your taste, not what you read.
