The first one I bought worked for about 2 weeks. Amazon replaced it with no problem. The second one worked off and on for about 3 weeks. I'm going to try the more expensive model to see if it is any better.

First things first - This is not a low quality plastic toy camera. This has considerable heft and substance with a very realistic look and feel. Very happy with this purchase. Easy to set up (battery operated light) and install. Not sure the light is really even necessary given the realism of the housing - but a nice bonus.

First of all, it works. When the monitor is within a short range, the picture quality is reasonably good, even though the colors are not that accurate. Night mode is okay as well. Audio reception is alright. The camera is so small and light weight that it's better fixed on a wall than being kept on a table or something. The monitor stand is a good thing and the monitor can also be wall-mounted.

The biggest problem is with the range. The picture reception is good for just about 50 ft, no more than that. The product description says 300 ft and ideal is 100 ft. But the results I see are nowhere close to that.

This remote control power outlet is PERFECT for those areas in your home where it's inconvenient to manually turn off the appliance, such as lamps, etc.

Very good for those with mobility issues.

We also used it to play a (harmless) prank on a co-worker. She thought her fan was possessed. Hilarity ensued.

Nice product, but after getting the product, I noticed that the software files were all .exe files. I went to the SVAT website and after digging deep, there was a warning that said " Not MAC compatible". So if you are all Mac like me, look elsewhere. I'm going to purchase a monitor for the system, but will not be able to access from the internet. And while you are here, be sure and get additional extension cables for the cameras, because you'll eat up 60' before you know it.

I have been experimenting with a few low-end security cameras. This camera is in the mid-price range of the cameras I have tried. It also delivers mid-range results. You get what you pay for I guess. The only reason I give this camera 4 stars is that it seems like a bargain for $75. I'm sure it is not a great camera compared to some of the pricier models. I have compared it side by side to the Q-See QSC48030 and I was not very impressed with SVAT when compared to the Q-See. On the other hand, the SVAT is much better than the X-10 camera line, especially in dim light or at night. SVAT GX5204 Wireless Handheld Color Pinhole Camera System

This was very easy to set up and it works well. The interference in my house seems to be very minor and I have all sorts of other electronic stuff including wireless internet, ceiling fans, and baby monitors. I would recommend for those looking for a quick and easy solution. The only thing I would like to try is a camera with a wider viewing angle. If SVAT makes it I am going to purchase!

Defender STEALTH1 Covert MPEG4 DVR Recording System with Built-in Color Pinhole Surveillance Camera Hidden in a Motion Sensor

This little thing does crystal clear surveillance. The owner's manual barely covers the basics but it is well worth your time to experiment with it. One major omission from the manual - the unit must be connected to a monitor in order to set it up and aim it. I have a pocket TV with a video input that works perfectly for this - since these TV's will be obsolete in February, you can probably pick one up CHEAP and use with the camera. I love the motion detect feature - you can adjust the sensitivity and monitor only the "action" that you are looking for. Also love the playback from the unit or from computer.

SVAT WSE201C Additional Camera for the WSE201C System

I have this for my 4011 system. Its better than the silver spherical camera that came with the system mentioned earlier. The reception is better, motion detection is better, and the picture is clearer.

I've only had it for a few weeks so I don't know how it will work in the rain and cold. My only complaints are that the power cord is too short, the IR light is noticeable at night, and the camera doesn't swivel wide enough to extreme angles.
