I bought this as my first telescope to explore the sky and I am VERY pleased. It's a high quality scope, and the mount and tripod are the kind you get with higher end models. Mine came with an incorrect piece, I contacted the Celestron, and I had a new piece in 3 days. Very nice service. I to had problems finding stars at first, so I went to an astronomy forum and found out the correct way to do it. From there, I haven't had a problem finding anything.

The 2 main things are 1) calibrate your finder first and 2) use the right eye piece when looking for something (this scope comes with a 10mm and a 20mm, so you would want to use the 20 to find and 10 to magnify once you found what it is your looking for). I have found Astronomy is ... Read More:

I wanted to have a very basic telescope to take a photo for the moon, I found Celestron C90 good one even it's spotting scope. and it is so easy to operate. the focal lenght is 1200 mm .

For the price yes it worth it.

Celestron Collimation Eyepiece 1.25"

This thing works. Right out of the box I was able to line up my mirrors in less that an hour to textbook perfect diffraction rings on a star. It is the first real collimation my scope has had since I got it.

I bought a cheap Dobsonian over twenty years ago. Didn't use it much, had a couple of cheap eyepieces. It made pretty good images compared to other scopes but I was never sure of the collimation.

Fast forward to today when the internet allows people to communicate with each other! Read the reviews on collimators and the articles on collimation. This device is a consistent favorite. Cheap and effective, it goes right to the front of my new and improved eyepiece collection.

Nikon Action 7x35 EX Extreme ATB Binocular

I was excited to try these for bird watching, and got exemplary customer service and shipping from Amazon affiliated merchant.

Unfortunately neither my wife nor I (both normal-sized people) was unable to test them effectively because the eyepieces do not adjust close enough together to make a nice "circle"; instead we got double circles and double vision. The adjustment goes from 56-74mm which is apparently the range of average adult male faces. Well, if Nikon is listening, I checked all their models and none of them go below 56mm that I could find. That cuts out a big portion of the population

Nikon Monarch ATB 12 x 42 Waterproof Binocular

I've had cheap Bushnell's prior to owning the Monarch 12x. I took them out to the back of the house as soon as they arrived. Wow, what a wonderful surprise. The crispness of the images even in fading dusk was amazing. Add to that the 12x magnification. I just learnt what it is to experience the pleasure of having a great pair of binoculars. And, the price is unbeatable. I'm totally satisfied.
