Camera works ok, although no bells and whistles. The add made no mention of needing corner store disposible non-recharging batteries, which was somewhat subjective since most would assume a video camera would have electric plug and or rechargeable batteries. Good gift for a small child only.

Terrific camera with fantastic features. It was easy to learn and so easy to use. The video quality is great and I use it everywhere. I especially like that it is light and easy to hold. I have been using it nonstop for the past few months and have already got a lifetime of memories.

We needed another camcorder didn't really want a HD because of the problems of no software out there to create HDDVDs. We bought this because our other sony is 10yrs old and didn't want to buy what we had. We are very glad we did. Even regular tapes look stellar in the 1080i format. The 20x zoom is to drool over. It is wonderful we use it for birding only now they are moving. All the techie stuff should come from my husband, but I am writing this so you won't hear it from me. I do not hear him swear or crank about difficult maneuvers. He likes the programable buttons. I found the change to Final Cut HD easy. You edit in HD and made the non HD DVD (we use a MAC) record it back to HD tape and wait till the software is written. Broadcast wants ... Read More:

I bought this for sale and thank god! I sing and this is a horrible camera for me. Maybe it's okay in the daylight with crappy sound quality but that's about it. Crap.

I've been using this unit to capture some sailboat racing on Puget Sound.

The mounting hardware that this unit ships with provides a comprehensive solution to just about any mounting challenge. I've used the semi-round mount with the c-clamp on railings on the boat, and I've used the universal mount on other surfaces like an instrument housing and the rear stanchions.

Someone else commented on setting the audio beep as loud as possible. This is a good tip, as sometimes I've wondered if the unit got the command from the remote. Likewise, it's taken me a few trial and errors to figure out aiming.

it is a very practical Camcoder,it can take pictures while recording.

and i didn't receive the memory card at first, but soon after i get in touch with the customer service, they send me the memory card very quick!

I've only owned the camera a short time (2 weeks.) So far the picture in day light shots is superb. Vivid color and true HD quality. At night it is a little grainy. In comparison to my old JVC Envrino the Samsung is much more competent at dark/night video. I like the touchscreen interface. It is not for everyone (I read several reviews before the purchase) I cruise through them menu system with no effort. The software is great for basic video editing and DVD production. I can't wait to try out the slow-mo, I need to conceive a great project to enjoy this feature. Any Ideas?

I just bought this camera last week with the intention of making a feature HDV film with a group of like-minded individuals and I have to say now that I've received it and shot a little bit of footage with it I'm very excited. The picture is crystal clear and very bright. I watched what I shot on my HD television and it looks great, better than some professionally produced videos that air on the HD channels. I'm pleased with my purchase and with any luck will be shooting a feature with it this spring. I'm also going to spring for a glide cam stabilizer and some other accessories.
