This camcoder requires ImageMixer 3 software to watch videos on PC and I did NOT get one with my purchase and trying to find help on internet to buy this software is not much encouraging either. I found like around $30 to buy IMAGEMIXER 3 SOFTWARE to make your videos work on PC. This is ridiculous. I would NOT recommend this camcoder.

I will say that the video quality at the highest setting is very good. I also purchased the largest additional battery that was available and i am not diappointed with that either. I have shot over 30 hours of video so far and the quality is pretty good. The camera is light weight and easy to hold for long periods of time with no problems, which is a huge plus. The menu is easy to navigate to make any adjustments.



What does disapoint me is that i have had several drop detection errors occur when i was filming, even when i was not moving my hand. I do have a professional camera mount kit for my car and when i film inside the car (mounted on the dash) at high speeds and high g forces (think of how the car leans ... Read More:

I ordered the GZ-MS100 to upgrade from an older VHS-C Panasonic cam-corder. Obviously, the JVC is head and shoulders above the older Panasonic. I did not need HD at this time, so I focused on hard drive vs. SDHC cameras. I opted for the SDHC due to no moving parts, quieter operation, and ease of file transfer and transportability. Also, the cost of SDHC cards are very low. The camera works as advertised. The unique menu interface (the slider bar to the left of the screen) was easy to master. I like the user interface since it is clean and avoids the many buttons, switches, and selectors that would have been the alternative. I got this camcorder for last Christmas and it is awful. If you do decide to purchase it, you need to get some kind of light attachment because without it the video quallity is awful. The flash is too bright for pictures (another reason why an attachable light is required)and if used, pics will come out as a white flash or either blue tinted. An attachable mike is also useful, because the camera only pics up the voice of whoever is recording.

Go with a different camera, this one is worthless...

I am a total novice to video cameras let alone DVD cams. This little camera works great! I love the 1000x zoom feature.

One thing that people in the other reviews had problems with was mini-dvd's not working. Well - if they would have read the little book, they would have seen that the camera only works with DVD-R or DVD-RW discs. Not +R or +RW. Yes! There is a difference.

Still picture feature was a selling point for me. It takes great digital stills.

Great, easy to use, light weight, and user friendly!

Recently purchased this camera before leaving to meet our Italian relatives for the first time in Italy. What a nightmare! The camera would not, no way, initialize the discs that were recommended for purchase with the camera. Very disappointed not to have had a video memento of a trip we had planned for many years. We purchased a battery charger and an additional battery for this camera, and now cannot return it. A lot of money wasted, although we did receive a refund for the camera itself. I'm giving this a one star rating only because I can't leave no stars! Buyer beware.

Bought the camera sight unseen, which was a mistake. I shoot in a lot of low light situations, which this camera DOES NOT do well in (my old digital 8 camera blows this away). I've had to boost to hyper gain which is an extremely grainy picture.

I have owned the iSonic HD665 Snapbox for about four days. I am writing this to make some information available for others considering a purchase.

The native resolution of the image sensor is 5 mega pixels. The video codec is a 'MPEG-4 AVC (H .264)'.

The microphone is mounted on top of the device so it will pick up the camera operator's voice way louder than that of someone in front of the camera at an equal distance.

For still pictures, The camera allows you to select from 2MP(1600x1200), 5MP (2592x1944), and 11MP (3744x2808) resolutions. The last setting is just a 'blow up' of the native resolution.
