This digital camera works well in general, but do your research before you buy one. I have found in bright sunlight, that the image is very blurry. I have also found that zooming the camera in all the way causes a lot more blurry pixels then thought. The image becomes very distorted. All in all I think the camera is good but I am sure their are some new products out on the market now that gets the job done better. If your looking for a cheap digital camcorder, then buy one of these.

I'm another poster who purchased at Biglots for only $250. For this price, it has to be one of the best bang for buck video cams period!
720p HD video quality. Flash memory. Super small and light. What more can you ask for? Well, I wish it had a cold shoe,OIS instead of EIS.
If you buy this, it will literally take you 1minute or less to get the camera hooked up to your pc and transfer the video(video transfer takes longer depending on the length)to your pc. I did a short video of my pets outside our backyard. Watching the footage on my pc blew me away. then i edited and recorded to a standard dvd, watched it on a standard dvd player. Once again, I was blown away by the quality of the video.

I 've read a lot of reviews before purchasing this camcorder. Excellent video in sun light, even overall it 's a little bit yellowish to my taste. Amazon is best price, and they refund me the difference when the price went lower in within 30 days after purchase.

Low light is OK. and I found it better than the JVC HD camcorder that my brother has. Extremely low light is not acceptable.

I do not have time to test the 5.1 audio on my NAD receiver.

Insert the SD card in to a playstation 3 SD slot and there you go. Or copy the files to a DVD and watch it thru the PS3 bluray drive. HD resolution!

Go for it! Small size and picture quality will make you happy.

JVC Everio S GZ-MS100 Flash Memory Camcorder with 35x Optical Zoom

I ordered the GZ-MS100 to upgrade from an older VHS-C Panasonic cam-corder. Obviously, the JVC is head and shoulders above the older Panasonic. I did not need HD at this time, so I focused on hard drive vs. SDHC cameras. I opted for the SDHC due to no moving parts, quieter operation, and ease of file transfer and transportability. Also, the cost of SDHC cards are very low. The camera works as advertised. The unique menu interface (the slider bar to the left of the screen) was easy to master. I like the user interface since it is clean and avoids the many buttons, switches, and selectors that would have been the alternative. This is a really great camera. I bought it for my granddaughter who is 9 and she loves it. After just a short going over of the instructions she was filming everything. I do recommend getting the extra memory card though because the memory in the camera is short

I absolutely love my Flip Ultra Camcorder! I highly recommend it! I am one of those people who just wants something handy for those special moments that just jump up and demand video. I hate lugging anything big around and this fits in my purse perfectly. I don't expect to make movies like DeMille or Spielberg, I just want to record family and fun and this fits the bill! I've taken my recorder to the river (highly recommend the aquapac), to Disneyland, weddings, sledding in the snow with the grandkids and videotaping just how darn cute they are! For some reason the video won't download with the program that comes with the camera. From what I've read on the 'net, I'm not the only one with that problem. Can't figure out how to download music to it, but I didn't buy it for the mp3 player.
The camera part is awesome. It takes wonderful pix for it's pixel size. Very easy to use (aside from the video download and the mp3), and it IS an awesome price. All in all, I'm very pleased with it and I would recommend it as a digital camera.
If anyone out there knows how to get the video to download let me know.

Okay so I bought this camera because I wanted something with the powerful zoom and image-stabilization of my S3 IS, but also portability and convenience of my Powershot SD 1000. I was hoping that Canon's TX 1 would fill that need perfectly, but for reasons I am about to stipulate, it did not, and I find myself carrying the other two 90 percent of the time. It's not that this camera isn't good - in fact, had I purchased this before either of the other two I would probably swear it was the greatest miracle on the face of the earth, but I have already used the other two cameras and when I use the TX 1 I find myself wishing that I had one of the others.

Compared with the S3 IS -

Sony DCR-DVD308 works beautifully and seems well put together. It's light, compact, convenient and generally well designed. Operation is very easy, though it is so light it is very difficult to keep steady on a long zoom, and the zoom is extremely rapid and difficult to make unobtrusive - both probably what you get in this kind of camera. It may be a wonderful camera if you just want to watch what you shot, conveniently immediately, on your living room DVD player. Not so much if you want to edit it for anything other than YouTube. The problem seems to be the specific MPEG-2 compression for mini-dvd storage (which is not limited to Sony). I shot one dvd and then tried to edit it, which was a bit of a nightmare. Easy to use SD card and AA batteries. My daughter loves it. I just gave her one of my 1gb cards and she has been taking pictures and making videos since Xmas morning.

So far it is really good.
