Well this camera seemed amazing at first. It took clear pictures most of the time. But as i started to use it more and in different kinds of lighting that you can forget taking a decent picture after sundown. The image stabilization is poor and you have to fight the camera to focus on up close objects clearly.
HOwever it is a good camera and sturdy, takes great pictures during the day time though its focus is still off. or maybe thats just me? Sometimes ive gotten the shot i wanted with a bit of luck. My complaints about this camera are common for newer sony cybershots. You can't get everything you want in one package...

Just got this camera recently but here is my initial take. Ideally I'd like to have a camera that can take intelligent pictures without much guess when in auto mode. Some of my pictures in auto mode will come out nice and others will come out blurry, even in good light conditions. Any settings saved in auto mode or scn mode are reset just by changing modes or turning off the camera. So if you don't want to use iESP and want to use spot focus instead, you have to keep resetting it each time. Settings will only be saved in P, A, S, M or video modes. Macros come out really nice. Zoom is great, but can loose focus in auto mode especially if zoomed to the max. The evf switches to lcd screen after each shot, so you have to watch it on the ... Read More:

I have owned this camera since June 2008, prior to this shot with Canon's PowerShot G2. So my review is based on upgrading from an old but still very good point and shoot camera with manual controls to a modern SLR. Since there are obvious difference between the two I'll concentrate on some of the features I like: Custom setting (C1,C2,C3) and the My Menu setting.
The 40D has a multitude of options available, highlight recover, iso noise reduction, mirror lock up, bracketing, live view, etc... but generally you don't need all of these options all the time, that's where the custom setting function comes in handy. Swapping between different shooting profiles is as easy as turning the dial.
I love this camera. Takes great pictures.
Just do not buy it from Photo Dynasty. Those guy are overpriced and not reliable. Choose a more reliable retailer.

Small camera, the only negative thing is that the screen edge shouldn't be out of the camera, it should be flat.
But the camera it's still ok...

This Nikon product looks cool but only from outside. The image quality is really poor for a 10MP resolution. My 4 MP Fuji takes way better pics.
Day and night mode are equally bad. I will not recommend this to anyone.
I bought this camera with the intent of taking interesting pictures around the city. While it is a very good serious photographer's camera, it is also excellent at capturing designs and notes composed on a conference room whiteboard.
Phone cameras usually do a poor job of capturing whiteboards, the angle of view is too narrow, and lens quality is often terrible. The LX3's wide angle of view and very high resolution makes it easy to get sharp images from even the most claustrophobic rooms.

Pros: - Clear detail & high quality in both photos & videos
- Good battery endurance
- Helpful onboard Menu Guide & Menu System
- Facilitates Automation well (No knowledge of how to set up your shots necessary)
- Compact size
- Feature loaded! Great onboard interactive & PC features...
Cons: - Small onboard memory. It IS necessary to purchase a Memory Stick to coulpe with the Camera
- The sometimes grainy look of the LCD Display (though this is not an indication of how the shots/videos look)

This is a great camera that is best for someone who likes preset settings and does not like to mess about with manual features. The camera is a little bulky to carry around in your pocket but not so big that it is not a worthy point and shoot. I have found this camera best for shooting at events and general snap shot moments.
I bought this camera to carry in my backpack for nature photos instead of carrying one of my DSLR's. I just downloaded some pictures I took this weekend and was very pleased with the quality of the picutres of some quail and deer I photographed. My only complaint is that the viewfinder could be a little brighter. Sutter lag isn't bad. I think I am going to love this little camera.
