Ordered this based on reviews plus specs on the Samsung web site. Even downloaded the users guide to confirm capabilities. When received the item noticed there was no slot on the frame for the XD cards (which is what our camera uses). Called their tech support. They were not aware of change to spec and said there must be a shared input slot that took the XD card ! I was dubious, but continued to set up and install the item.
Noticed that the manual on the CD sent with the item was different than the one on their web site and did NOT include XD card support. A subsequent call to a different tech support person confirmed that XD is no longer supported - though none of their documentation on line reflects this even today !!!

eStarling Impact8 Wi-Fi Photo Frame

Just received this as a birthday present from friends, and it's been great. Apparently earlier versions of the hardware/software were a pain to set up. The new release, which includes a remote, quickly identifies WiFi networks and allows you to enter any passkey (WEP, WPA, and more all appear to be supported). The frame connected to several different networks, of different makes, with no problems.

After the account is set up, viewing photos either locally (via removable media card) or from a RSS feeds (such as a PicasaWeb album) works beautifully. I thought I was getting a cool digital frame with widgets, but I was wrong. After spending an hour on the phone with Samsung trying to find the InfoLink option, noone had a clue. If you want a digital frame with WiFi, it is good, but don't buy it for the widgets.

I can't believe that Consumer Reports recommended anything from this company. I got this frame for my husband as an anniversary gift in August, and I still don't have a working frame (I write this on November 16). The first frame never turned on. It was completely dead. I tried running the update that Smartparts wants you to do online, and that did nothing. I contacted the company and was told I would receive a new power cord. The cord never came. I called back and was told that the cord wouldn't have fixed the problem (which made me realize that this must be a frequent issue) and that they had no record of my phone call. eStarling 8-Inch Digital Wireless Picture Frame (Black)

I bought this for my Mom last Christmas, and a Phillips frame for my wife's work, and even though the Phillips may be a tad brighter than the EStarling, I think I prefer the EStarling for its simplicity.

I just email my photos to my Mom's frame, and they just show up (with no subscription fee at all). It was very easy to set up twice (once on my WiFi network to test and again on hers) She has had absolutely no problem keeping it connected to her network, and its ease of use makes the interface on the Phillips model look positively Byzantine.

I was just checking to see if there is a new model to give my Father in law for Christmas, and even though it still is the same model as last year I will probably still get one for him.

Great picture from all sides, but could be better when looking from beneeth (sitting in sofa, the frame is in the bookshelf at 6 feet from the floor). Have not tried the wireless uploading. The frame looks good and fits great inbetween books. Easy to use and comes with a very easy remote controll.

I purchased this frame and on the actual box it says the resolution is 640x480 even though all the websites selling it say 800x600. The model number on my box is N10W-400, same as here and on the other websites.
