The Cannon HF-DC1 is an excellent assistant to the digital camera flash. I was the photographer a a friends wedding and all of the pictures came out perfect. The added power of the HF-DC1 illuminated the reception hall perfectly, not over or under exposed. I recommend this product very much.

If you've got a Pentax dSLR, this is the flash you're looking for. I really agonized whether to go with a cheaper flash to use off camera with an optical slave triggered by the on camera flash, or go ahead and get the 360, which would provide me with more options, especially when used on camera. I'm very glad I went with the Pentax. So glad I ended up buying a second one. It's a good all around flash, easy to use, and obviously great to use in conjunction with your Pentax dSLR. When you have two, you can use one on camera to trigger the other off camera. Or use both off camera triggered by the on camera flash (put the 360s in Slave 2 mode if you have the K100D). 1) The tab is too big to get in my camera's hot shoe without folding and stuffing it in, or cutting it.
2) Apparently my camera (Cannon powershot pro) disables the built-in flash when something's in the hot shoe - using a pressure switch, so inserting this all the way disables my camera's flash
3) Results are mixed. I didn't get underexposures, but some times didn't seem like it did much diffusing.

Your mileage may vary, but for $10 it might be worth a try.

I take pictures for an orthodontists, and this has drastically improved the lighting on my photos. Its great for close up pictures. I use this in conjunction with a Cannon Rebel XT and a 60mm lens.

Olympus FL-50R Electronic Flash for Olympus Digital SLR Cameras

This flash is a great choice for indoor photography and also nice for macro. In the past I used the built-in flash which is making dark shadow behind any subject. But using the 50R with the diffuser or reflector is really awesome. No more shadow, balanced lighting and clearer photo. For me, the max ISO I used was 200.

I tested it with my Canon G9 and it works just fine using the manual setting.

For the price, It's great and better choice than the FL-50. I can't use the wireless option but it's the best flash for the future if you are going to upgrade or buy a new cam from Olympus. recharges fast and your hero in a dark place.

I too mistakenly believed that this model, listed as fitting the 420 model, would also fit my 420EX but it doesn't... Just a word to future purchasers: check your model number VERY carefully!

Sony HVL-F42AM High Power Digital Flash for Sony Alpha DSLR Cameras

I've owned the F42AM flash for about 3 months now and am very pleased. I think it is the most powerful flash out there for the Sony mount for under $300. It 'zooms' the flash focus in conjunction with your camera lens zoom, has a click out wide angle dispersion filter so it works with wide angle lenses, does bounce/angle/rotate orientation, and its wireless capability is not equaled at this price. In auto mode snapshots are consistently right on. Manual or custom control settings are simple and easy. When in off-camera wireless mode using bounce mode with a diffuser it is almost like having a room full of studio lights. I know its big brother has even more power and features that the pros need, but for advanced amateurs or beginner pros this flash can't be beat.
