If you are looking into buying the SB-800 (Overkill for most non-professionals, and even some professionals, but great features) then buy this full kit. I was not able to find the items that came in this kit anywhere else for less than $100.00 more.

The bracket adds an element of versatility and creativity I never thought possible with flash. I was raised that if you are relying on your flash for a good photo you're going to be disapointed. Sorry Grandpa, but that's just not the case anymore. The bracket w/ included remote cord puts the speedlight off camera preventing red eye and a host of other on camera issues. It has six different mounting points on the base so you can utilize a tripod with the bracket.

Cheap plastic body. The base which connects to the shoe WILL break off. Even Nikon mounts will break and they are made way stronger than this knockoff. I'm guessing they are trying to "corner" the market on all of the Nikon D40's that are being sold because the Nikon flash is so expensive. I'm returning this one before I break it and i'm SOL. It lookis like the second level stuff they sell at Ritz. I saw it on here for 199.99...WHAT? I paid $100 for it and i'm pissed.

I have an Olympus E-510 and i can not be more happier with the purchase of the FL-50. My indoor pics looks ten time better specially when you learn how to bounce light... You can be very creative... In short, highly recommended....

I ordered this flash from Ace Photo Digital in December and received it in January, noticing right off the bat that it fit the hotshoe rather loosely, the flash screen was not straight and also experienced some exposure problems. Still, it was better than the built-in flash so I hung on to it. After several months (and ONE battery change) one of the clips that hold the battery door closed snapped off. Note - I am VERY gentle with my equipment. I contacted Ace and didn't receive a reply for some time - when it came it was "contact Bower". I called, went on endless hold and when I finally reached a "customer service" rep he would not even provide the slightest information with me describing the flash using Ace's description (which pertains to exactly ... 1) the item listed as marked down form 100+ dollars to $14.00 seems like it is worth $35. at most quality and abilities -wise.
2) It did not want to work properly on the camaera I purchased it for, although I did work on another camera.
