I bought this ringflash to accompany my toy holga for experimental images. Shortly after, I learned it works VERY well with my SLR. It's not an exact match, but it's definitely worth getting for its price and trying fun stuff out. What's really cool about this ringflash, is that you can change the gels and the diffusers to have exciting new color combinations that are visible in your images. With the white diffuser, it creates soft shadows just like an expensive ringflash, but for only 1/8 the price! It's a great extra piece of equipment that cannot be beat for it's price!

Sigma EF-530 DG Super is the best and most important investment you can get for your camera. Let me justify this. First, assuming you already have one, take a shot of an object with your on-camera flash, then put this baby on and take another shot, then compare your results. See the real skin colors and the life-like quality of image? It is night and day. On-camera flash is harsh and there is little adjustment you can do with it. This Sigma can be positioned to bounce the light in many artistic ways so you don't get an overexposed face and a dark background, etc.

No complaints about the flash, the flash bracket or cord. The rechargable batteries that were sent were not the best and we had a difficult time getting them to charge.

I ordered this very late on a thursday night, chose standard shipping and received it on tuesday - so technically it arrived in 3 business days - great job!!

The shipping box was damaged by ups, but the contents were in perfect shape - great packaging by cameta!!!

The included defuser could be explained a little better, it is simply cardboard which uses velcro hook and loop fasteners but I bought an additional Sto-Fen OMEY Omni-Bounce Diffuser at the same time I ordered this kit so that didn't matter to me.

This kit saved me over $250 (quoted price) by buying online instead of locally, which I normally try to keep my business local....but with this republican in office, money is very tight so I am looking ... Read More:

Vivitar 283 Electronic Flash

Simple, powerful, sturdy workhorse flash. No needless bells and whistles. I've used 283's on and off for 20+ years and they are dependable. For strobist use, I added the VP1 for manual control and radio slaves. Works great.

I shot my first wedding recently and ordered the Big Bounce for the reception, which was indoors. The room had very high ceilings, warehouse style. I used my Nikon D200 with the SB600 flash. I am so thrilled with the results. Everyone looks pleasantly lit without glare - in truth it looks like I relied on natural light. Just fantastic results. I had read that it works well with high ceilings and I'm a believer!!! A+ all the way.
